  1. Vendors often want a cashiers check or postal money order so they can ship immediately. Having packaged parts setting around for days or weeks waiting for a check to clear is a problem. I almost always ask for a postal money order (unless I know the buyer) as they are seldom faked as the postal service has it's own investigators and they act quickly as this is their only job. If you call the sheriff or police they take a report and then nothing happens. Creating fake postal money orders is taken seriously by postal investigators. In thirty five years restoring cars only once did a vendor cheat me. I think that is a very good record for our hobby.
  2. It appears that this is sold. Thanks to all who showed an interest. Patrick W. Brooks
  3. Hello James: Sorry, but the one advertised is sold. I do have a Repair and Tune-Up Manual devoted to Buick published by Thompson Products which was a large manufacturer and distributor of car parts. It is inclusive of all model Buicks from 1939 through 1948. It shows use but is complete and 77 pages. It covers all series and includes chapters on tune-up, engine, clutch, transmission, steering, axles, water pump, front wheel suspension, shop notes and much more. I am sure you would find it helpful and informative. Cost is $10.00 plus shipping which would be by "Book Rate" and be very reasonable. I would need your zip code and complete address. Email me at brooker50158@outlook.com Thanks, Patrick W. Brooks

  20. Remember, an electric motor will spin either direction. The motor must spin the blade so as to direct air through the radiator and not away from the radiator. If it turns the wrong way your car will over heat for sure. If it turns the wrong way all that you must do is switch the wires and it will turn the correct direction. I have seen this problem on a number of occasions and it is easily solved. Patrick W. Brooks
