FOR SALE: These are the synchronizing drums which allow your transmission to shift easily from one gear to the next. Group 4.384, part # 1314659, and fit 1940-1952, series 40 & 50,; 1953-1955, series 40. These are for the standard transmission only and should be replaced whenever a transmission is rebuilt. They frequently make shifting sounds and shifting hard when worn. They shifting teeth are brass and when worn or damaged do not function as they should to make shifting smooth. Each transmission takes two of these drums and they have gotton hard to find as NOS parts. I have three NOS of these drums and want $25.00 each or all three for $65.00. FOR SALE: Rebuilt 6 volt starter which fits 1939, series 40; 1940-1942, series 40 and 50; 1946-1950, series 40 and 50. This was taken off a 1949 Buick and professionally rebuilt. It has never been on a car since and I equipped it with a 12 volt solenoid and carried in a 1949 Buick which I had changed to a 12 volt. FOR SALE: My 1949 Buick Super Woody, Model 59, is for sale. This is the car which drove in the Around The World Motor Marathon in 2000 and Peking To Paris in 1997 as well as other events for Buick Motor Division. These trips were the subject of many articles in magazines as well as the Buick Bugle. The car was purchased by me in 1994 and given a complete body off restoration including a complete mechanical restoration so as to drive long distances under adverse conditions. This car is pictured in the book "Buick - A Complete History" by Larry Gustin and Terry Dunham. As I write this notice I am looking at the Sixth Edition and many pictures and text about the trips are found at pages 400, 409-410, and 416-423. This car could be driven home and is ready for display and enjoyment. It could be purchased for substantially less the cost of purchase and restoration of another car. For Sale: Pictured is a oil bath air filter taken from a 1951 Buick. I parted out several 1950 - 1953 Buick small engine cars. I believe this air filter came off the 1951 and may fit other years as well. You can see the strap which went around the bracket which was part of the valve cover. It is in excellent condition and is not dented or damaged. This oil bath filter is ready to be stripped and painted for a show car as it is very presentable. I measured with a yard stick and it is approx. 26 1/2 inches in overall length and approx. 24 1/2 inches to the center of the opening for the top of the carb. Good Morning Lamar: Thanks for the inquiry. The red book is the Chassis Master Parts Book and the cover says it includes all Models from 1930 through 1955 Inclusive and states that the effective date is Nov. 1, 1955. The yellow book is the Master Body Parts Book and also covers all Models 1930 through 1955 and states that the effective date is Dec. 1, 1955. I have had these books at least 20 years and used them hundreds of times if not several thousand. The schematics make assembly so much easier and the parts numbers make purchase of parts a much greater certainty. Also, if you acquire a part and do not know the application these books enable identity and hence resale with certainty. I would not sell them if I did not have another set. To me they were worth a great deal and I would take them with to swap meets. Each includes the Supersedence List at the end of the volume. This is the list of part number changes so that you can identify a part with either the original part number or the newly assigned part number by Buick. For example, I have bought parts and looking in the Grp. #/part number list could not find the part number listed although it was in an original Buick box and the part number on the box and it was definitely Buick. My next step was to go to the Supersedence List and I could find the original number and the number assigned later as a replacement number.
