SOLD The "Jetaway Hydramatic" was standard equipment on the 1956 98 series, It was optional on both the 1956 88/Super 88 and the cost was $15 more than the "Base Hydramatic" (the manual 3-speed was still the base transmission for the 1956 88/Super 88 series) I have no idea what the percentages of installation was on the 2 Hydramatic transmissions.

This projector was professionally refurbished with new aluminum drive gears, belts and blubs.   8. Dave, thanks for the information. The number I gave you is the forging (casting). I had checked it earlier in my 1952 Buick parts book with no luck. This shaft is just under 38 inches long so the box must be mis-labled? Hopefull someone can come up with a positive match on the forging number. "Happy New Year" WD
  9. I recently purchased a group of parts that included a reground crankshaft for a stright 8. The box had 1938 Buick 40 series written on it in pencil. The casting number on the shaft is: #1296057 and also GM B24. The shaft has been turned .030 and includes new .030 main bearings that are taped to the shaft. Thanks for your help.
