For some reason, the link does not work, at least for me, to the minutes.

Buckets were an option and sometimes not even available on a GS. The VIN is your best ally as all GS's had a specific VIN that was different than a GS (there is 1 exception but not in the year's you are looking into).

Any idea where one might look for one of them hens tooths?
Yep, check out http://www.clearimageautomotive.com/chevy_impala_ss_tubular_transmission_cross_members.php
Brand new and should bolt in when you give the proprietor the info on your set up.

There was a mounting bracket that screwed into the floor and then the “box” attached to that bracket. They were simple brackets that many people either handmade a substitute or mounted the box itself to the floor sans any form of bracket.

You would probably be able to sell several sets, especially gears in the 3.23-3.42:1 range.

9.375? What does it do, climb trees?
What he's talking about is a 9 3/8" rear end (size of ring gear) common on full size Buick's, Olds' etc in the mid 60's through mid 70's and not the ratio. A VERY strong rear axle used in most (all?) full size with big block engines. 350's most commonly used the 8.5" (ring gear) sized rear end in those full size cars equipped as such.
There is zero aftermarket support for these rear ends and used/NOS parts are his only hope. The guy I mentioned above is his best chance for these parts.

Monzaz (username) on V8Buick.com would be your only hope. That rear end is not supported by any aftermarket vendor.

All Centurion convertibles came only with split bench seating, no mini console available. Not sure if an accessory was available on the hump in front of the seat.
Hummm, nope. My 72 has a solid bench.

That exhaust is aftermarket too. Many cars have been converted to dual exhaust over the years and it this one looks to be no exception. Round rear side markers, no backup light in center of rear bumper, vent windows, etc all point to 1968 without exception.
-
I just re-read your first post, convertible. Definitely a 1968.
-
Unless that one has a pillar, ie: sedan, it is a 1968. GM intermediates lost the vent windows in 1969. The vent is definitely aftermarket. As stated above, round rear markers are round for 1968, square for 1969.

Saw your reaction, Lamar. I know most of the others have a 2-3 month turn-a-round time. This is a winter down time project.

Cliff does have a significant backlog, but that is simply a testament to the quality of his work!
There are others that can rebuild these carbs for stock applications; but if the application is going to be non-stock, then live with it until you can live without it while Cliff is redoing it.
The other possible solution, since you have the book on order, would be wait until the book arrives, then give Cliff a call. Tell him exactly what you are wishing from the application. He offers the same level rebuilding kits on these last model carbs as do I on earlier ones. And he will give you excellent advice. See what he recommends, and if you feel comfortable with any necessary machine work, order what he suggests.
Just remember that so many carburetor rebuilders have gone out of business, and if you find one that will give you 48 hour turnaround, THERE IS A REASON!
Jon.
When I checked a couple of years ago, Cliff was out two years. It may be different today, but when I called....

You should have been at the GSX Reunion. A sea of yellow, white and a few other colors. Nobody could find their car. I sat back and laughed all day!

I recommend a rebuild of what you have. I have had better experience with rebuilding what's on the engine over a rebuild out of the box sitting on the shelf. The bog down, cutting off from time to time/punching it at the light certainly indicates carb issues.
I concur. I would strongly advise you to use what you have now, so long as it is correct for your application. The biggest mistakes people make is: 1) using an aftermarket part when the OEM part was designed by people that actually know what they are doing ( ie-Holley vs Quadrajet) and buying a rebuilt part from a giant wholesaler (Auto Zone comes to mind) that was rebuilt using a mishmash of wrong parts. Lamar, the three rebuilders you listed will all do an excellent job for you.

Might I suggest a Quadrajet specialist? I've used Mark Northcut at Quadrajet Power for 4 rebuilds so far. https://quadrajetpower.com . Great guy and a Buick owner!

Kinda like those Pontiac's of the mid-80's, the 6000's? First time I saw one the LE model's name badge read GOOOLE to me...

Here's a link to the, somewhat correct, hubcaps you need. They are missing the center medallion, but those can be found. $25 a pop. Worth a look!

Sadly I had to cover them up with metal. They were turning to powder and not keeping any weather out at all. I was afraid a gust of wind would blow down the building, so made the tough decision. The barn is over 100 years old (about 130, we're guessing) and those are the original board siding.
