Looks like a solid car at a decent asking price.

Not sure what the fixation on the steering wheel knob is about, but some owners seem to like them a lot. My '37 LaSalle came with one. I took it off the day I brought it home. Not planning to turn donuts on the neighbor's lawn anytime soon.

In our part of the woods, they were known as "necker-knobs" as to allow the driver (typically male) to keep one hand free for "other things"....   Use your imagination. :-0

  2. You're always welcome to stop overnight here in your travels.  I may have you take a radio back for the guy that did yours.  Oh, and a tape to be transferred to digital media.  8mm with optical audio...kind of a weird format.  The people are  in STL that do the transfer.  Dinner is on me this time!

I gave up on GM in 2004 when they decided to void my warranty because I installed (quite neatly, I might add) a amateur radio.  I asked if they honored a warranty for police vehicles and the answer was to the affirmative so why are you voiding my warranty?  No answer.  EVER.

I now own a 2019 (with several in between) Ford Explorer.  Zero issues and THEY DIDN'T DRINK THE KOOL-AID and take the government bailout.  Wife owns a 2016 Lincoln and says she will never sell it as she loves it too much.  Lost a loyal (like 50 years loyal) GM family, GM.

  4. There is no way to identify a 1971 GSX WITHOUT the build sheet.  There are clues, but without the build sheet positive id cannot be had.  350's and 455's (as well as Stage 1"s) were available.  124 were made in 1971, of that we are sure of.  He should provide all the information on the data plate and there are clues there to determine if it is a GSX.  Even just writing out the data plate info would help.

The front of my car is pretty bouncy. I replaced the front shocks with some cheap Pep Boys shocks and it road exactly the same. Im wondering if there are better shocks for this car or perhaps my springs could be bad? Anyone have suggestions? Thanks

Shocks control the rebound, not springs.  Buy better shocks.
