  1. Very Funny, if that were the case, wouldn't you have three gears in reverse and 1 forward. Actually the right hand threads go on the left side and vice a versa. I suppose the idea was that as the car rolls forward the lugs would not loosen up.
  2. You have parts of a coupe. Here is another project. http://forums.aaca.org/topic/245020-1929-plymouth-coupe/
  3. here is a similar project. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/1929-plymouth-coupe-no-longer-available.928427/
  4. here is another posting that may be of interest. http://forums.aaca.org/topic/245020-1929-plymouth-coupe/
  5. you could use these wheels if you has victory six front and rear ends with wire wheel hubs.
  6. maybe the auction house will release the results. I would be interested. I heard the 1915 sold for $20,000.00. http://www.estateofmind.biz/contact.html
  7. Mike French used 1930's Ford 1-1/2 ton steel wheels. They are plentiful and value priced. He drilled out the rivets to remove the centers, welded up the holes and they bolt right on.
  8. You are good! Now all I need to find is the rest of the car. Thanks, Bob
  9. Wrong venue to try to sell the car. Try http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/forums/classifieds.45/
  10. Yes it is new at least it was 10 years ago.
  11. Is this a Chevrolet? I included photos of the door jamb pieces. The door doesn't fit this body.
  12. the serial number is stamped on the passenger side frame rail near the front spring rear shackle bracket. it will be in the this range -------124 Series†------116” W.B. 4-point engineEngine Number D-950,000A-875,380 Mar. 22, 1927A-880,000 Apr. 8,1927A-890,000 Apr. 22, 1927A-900,000 May 7,1927A-910,000 May 1, 1927A-920,000 June 7,1927A-930,000 June 21, 1927A-934,104 July 1, 1927
  13. bits of debris between the magnet on the drum usually a fleck of rust.
  14. they actually don't look like Dodge aprons at all.
  15. The truck looks pretty original. The headlights are later and the wheels are later. The cab firewall numbers did not correspond to any production sequence. The cab is probably the original cab for the truck.
  16. The wheels look like 18" with a lock ring. Only the imperial had wire wheels in 1927. You probably will have to have a spare tire mount made. The wheels show up occasionally.
  17. My point was not that the car originally had safety glass but that Cadillac would not have installed glass with imperfections. If your car some 80 years later had Goodyear tires rather than Fisk tires would you then argue that the car had Goodyear tires when new? Good luck finding the Fisk tires by the way.
  18. The windshield that broke was probably not original. Even the lowly Ford would have minimum standards for materials used. Put safety glass in it and be happy and safe.
