  1. I would say this would be the biggest issue. If you are not a good body guy you will never get a car straight. I was 10 years old and I could spot a wavy car at 100 yards. Otherwise, I agree you can block the crap out of lacquer and make it look good.
  2. It will always look like it was painted at home unless you happen to be a professional body man.
  3. The car is worth at least that much and probably more as a former AK Milker car.

    ID mystery car

Did the picture come to you with the black dots? I'm more interested in their purpose than identifying the car.
  5. You guys are really stretching. The most uninteresting car from the 20s 30s 40s 50s and 60s is more interesting than almost anything from the 80s.
  6. The distinct memories of the low mileage Cordoba I had revolve around how often I broke down. It was a 78 however. As for the 80s, blah.
  7. Those are pretty big pieces of wood. Or a very small car.
  8. Use racing gas or aviation gas or it won't start in the spring.
  9. I think the estimates are high. The celebrity ownership is worth something and in some cases everything (Elvis or JFK). But, given that this is a 4 door limo, although a very stylish one, I think they price will be less. Of course, I'm sure I will eat crow too.
  10. Negative on the whitewalls. Black bias ply would be my choice.
  11. The names you mention were only found in the marketing literature. Graham used model numbers, 107, 109, and a couple of others but I forget what designates what. The marketing literature alludes to the Clipper, Corsair, etc but those nameplates were never found on actual manufactured car.
  12. This is a horrible story. The one thing about belts that I think everyone misses is that statistically you may or may not be decreasing the probability of a bad outcome by installing your own belts. There are thousands of hours of engineering and testing that goes into the correct placement, mounting, tension, etc of the belts so that they actually add value and not kill someone. It is quite possible that a backyard installation of seat belts could increase the likelihood of someone getting killed as preventing it.
  13. Hi Andrew, Google GOCI for the graham owners club website. Hollywoods were produced in 40 & 41. Many were supercharged. A few dozen Skylarks were built in 39 by Hupp before Graham took over. There is one known Skylark convertible and 2 Hollywoods.
  14. It is "Spirit of Motion" not Sharknose There are definitely cars out there, especially the 4 door. If you want a combination coupe you will pay twice as much money I think. There are styling differences between the early and late cars.
  15. 14k to 20k You will find buyers at the low end of that range. The higher end is achievable if the car is really nice but it will take more time to sell.
  16. Hugh Conway Bugatti - Le Pur Sang des Automobiles
  17. Thanks for the pictures. The Stutz is a great story. I believe he was 16 when he bought it? One of my favorite bodies.
  18. If you looked at the radar, the entire eastern searboard was clear with the exception of a 50 mile wide circle sitting on top of Hershey. Seems that this happens about once every 3 or 4 years like clockwork.
  19. Funny you should mention Steve. I bought a 68 HEMI Charger from him back in 1990. Just went to his website and he mentions that car and the fact that he sold it to me. I see he cleared 6k on the deal . http://stevemags.com/about-2/
  20. We have a resident Kissel expert who I'm sure will comment. My guess is they are not worth a lot but he will tell you.
  21. I said Mercedes Benz before realizing you had limited to U.S.. Stutz or Duesenberg. I don't consider Cord a luxury brand as it was upper mid market.
