  1. Some people prefer the "lighter" lines of the 500k but I really like this particular car. Perhaps there is only a single copy? I would have painted it the Blue but the champagne looks surprisingly good on it.
  2. For some reason I have the number 6 stuck in my head for the 540k Tourenwagens? Not sure that they made that many but I'm fairly sure there is more than one. Is the champagne car the blue one RM sold 8/10 years ago? If so, I think they got more than one million pre-restoration.
  3. I'm not a big fan of "touring" body styles in general but this is not a bad looking car. The champagne colored 540k is a different animal all together and would probably achieve 50 to 100 percent more than this car. I spent some time parked next to the owner of the champagne one at a show some years ago and he was a nice guy. Very well done car which was originally Blue.
  4. It is almost a given that when you are looking at a side-mount equipped car, especially one with covers, the tires on the road are bigger (some times much so) than what is in the side-mount.

  6. We would love to see some pictures. There are 3 or 4 Royales total of all body styles for publicly sale each year so definitely rare.
  7. I assume the one discussed on this forum? Do a search and you will find the old threads. I believe the car was in the North West. As for parts, you need to join the REO club and post a wanted ad in their newsletter. A neat car but rare so you will need to search for missing pieces. Good luck.
  8. I think the darker color, no side mounts and lack of wheel covers is more attractive. The silver is too much.

  11. I was surprised the Boss 302 got that level of attention. Certainly not holy grail material but relativity rare and certainly collectible.

  13. What is funny is the V16 represented a fraction of total production but a very large amount of the surviving cars. Did you by the 32 Convertible Coupe? I really like that car and thought it was reasonably priced as a full Classic Conv coupe. I have a friend who's grandfather was Thomas J Litle Marmon's Chief engineer in the late 1920s. If anyone ever stumbles on any info about him it would be appreciated.
  14. This was a friend's grandfather's car. He still has the plates. I assume it should be pretty easy for this crew.
  15. The wheels are in the original style but too wide.
  16. As with most replicas the wheels mess it up. The 20 Grand replica that was for sale a couple of years ago was one of the best I've seen.
  17. I should point out the mechanics on the post war Silver Wraith are pretty simple and there is a bunch of GM stuff used by the factory.
  18. There is a flip side. My dad's 59 Silver Wraith has 170k miles on it with just minor maintenance performed by my dad. He's owned the car for 50 years and put 140k of those miles on. Has never failed to start and has only broken down once in 50 years. Water pump blew on 84 in Penn in the middle of no where back in 1971. Dad had to call home and have someone go to our house and grab a water pump, put it on a bus to get it. The guy that owned the local service station was really cool about helping. Picture is my junior prom circa 1981.

  20. That Hupp looks like a good car. I view 30 as closer to 29 than 31 but I agree that the bigger engined cars can fine to drive.
