  1. The factory has been closed for the last year and what is going to happen is in flux as far as I know. Pending everything being sold I do not believe you can get parts at the moment. When I was at Auburn in 2012 it was open for the weekend and I was able to buy lots of stuff for my Hollywood. My dad was there in the late 50s when many auburn/cord/duesenberg parts were mixed in the lots.

  5. There are high end auctions that limit all access to those that have paid. Usually the preview is open but not always. Depends on the location and space. Remember, the auction company only cares about selling the cars. If the people you let in for free are in the way (however you want to define that) of selling the cars then why do it?

  11. The chrome lock rings have a better chance of going on without getting destroyed, at least that would be my theory. I saw a Duesenberg done with this treatment that I really liked, however it was converted to all chrome before it hit the show circuit.

  13. I believe this car is owned by a REO club member in Texas. I like the colors but would of course lose the whitewalls.
  14. Great photo Jason! Those tires are really cool. Also, I don't think I have ever seen the chrome spokes with painted rim treatment before.

  16. The 8-31 cars seem even more rare than the 8-35. This is a Victoria which was recently bought a forum member. Maybe he can post a few more pictures soon since he just got it home It is a nice shot of how big the engine is.

    Remember the one Hyman has a few years ago? That seemed like a better car. It was gone in 1 week. Do you know what he go for it?
  18. My dad has had this for a long time. It was in the original box which disintegrated years ago. I assume bicycle lamp?
  19. Here are some pictures of the sliver convertible coupe. I apologize for their size but it is all I have.
  20. I can't decide if I like the 500k Cab A better or the first series 540k Cab A more. Anyways, 3.05 million is a record for one of these. The paperwork is interesting but I would get rid of the two-tone - even if it has been that way for 70 plus years. I know there are at least two these 500k Cab A's with factory 540k engines floating around that were built.
  21. I really like the styling on the Mulliner 500k. But, you have to remember the MB market tends to reward factory left hand drive bodies. This car would have brought 500k more in left hand drive and a Sindelfingen name plate.
