  1. I have a friend restoring a 8-31 Reo Royale. These are pictures of the drivers side spring dampers on his car. I believe these are the same on all model Royale and we were wondering if any other Classic used something like this? Also, does anyone have any thoughts on reproducing the rubber or perhaps there is a source?
  2. Good points. Matt reminded me of a car I bought 25 years ago. It was a 70 Boss 302 that had spent a good part of its life on jack stands in a garage. This was 1989 and muscle car prices were rising daily. The guy wasn't sure what it was worth do I showed him the latest price guide. He agreed to the #4 condition value since it was not a runner. I was very very happy. In fact, I feel guilty now telling that story.
  3. He is saying the A is under restoration and available restored.
  4. The golf door means upscale.
  5. 48 dodge 2 door sedan?
  6. His prices for prewar Mercedes are way off. You are right that the numbers and variations with prewar cars make them impossible to accurately track.
  7. Photo is worth a couple of bucks, maybe 5 if someone has the same car. Otherwise what Curt said.
  8. Global Classics has a nice 500k Cab C for sale. Craig, do you have the chassis number on this one? http://www.globalclassiccars.com/inventory/view/7536819/-Dallas-TX
  9. I think a photo of the wheel you are looking for and more importantly which make and model will make things a lot easier. Not sure how many manufacturers were still making 20 inch wheels by 1930 as I think most had gone to 19 inch. Also, the lugs under a hubcap but with lock rings is interesting as that seems to combine a earlier feature, the snap ring, with a later feature the hidden lugs.
  10. Here is a 8-31 for sale in the U.S.A.: http://www.prewarcar.com/index.php?option=com_caradvert&view=ad&section_id=1&id=173591&Itemid=432 928-208-5642 $23,500 Straight body. Runs and drives. Partially restored. Gas tank and radiator have been redone. Engine has been completely flushed out. Luggage rack and headlights have been re-chromed. Missing the chassis lubrication system.
  11. Jason, that is a nice looking drawing!! Definitely one of my favorite prewar designs.
  12. Kirk, the Rollston bodies were all aluminum while I think the factory bodies were steel. There may have been a few factory bodies but they would not look as good as the full custom Rollston. Our Packard gurus will chime in with the real story I'm sure.
  13. Tough call Pete. Maybe after you bolt them on they might not look that bad and you can leave them alone. A tougher call would be if you owned one of the original cars with those fenders!
  14. Kirk, your Derham bodied Stutz had me thinking too Steve, I hope you kept the Hollywood!
  15. They are still out there but you are the only guy that finds them! Are you leaving the scoops on the fenders?
  16. Pete, did you ever find a rear end?
  17. Congratulations Steve. When are you going to run out of room? I could take the Pierce if things are getting tight!
  18. Hmmm, I see 20k worth of chrome work to do
  19. Personally I don't have much faith in price guides. Sale prices on eBay are a good reference but won't help with your cars. My advice would db to ask some Willys club guys.
  20. The full story was in automobile quarterly.
