  1. A non running incomplete 4 door sedan of almost any variety has very little to no value unfortunately.
  2. I spent some quality time on the Morton site too. I didn't see any of their buildings engineered for a second floor. I think a full second story is really a plus because for every car you have you have another car stall worth of parts to store somewhere.
  3. The problem with building too big is that you really get diminishing returns if it is a residential property. I would love a building the size of the one Ed has but if I built that at home and lets say it was 200k or 250k. It would probably depreciate the property by an equal amount. The solution is to of course put the building on a commercial lot but in Mass those are very very expensive.
  4. I can always count on Bob to state my opinion first! Putting apples with oranges is futile and a waste of time. Clubs are a victim of the changing times and social habits so letting in a few newer cars in will not change that. I would argue that each club should remain true to their original intent. If they don't have an audience for that anymore then maybe the club won't exist. Also, original post is incorrect and Ed is right. The additions the CCCA made will probably add about 20 more cars and 2 members total. It is more about making the inclusion rules on the front end years more logical.
  5. I don't think you are going to get much response on this as the Olds is not considered a Classic by the CCCA. Try posting up in general or in the Oldsmobile section.
  6. Looking at that website they have some neat garages for what looks like reasonable prices. The issue I have with the steel buildings is that if you are putting it up in a residential environment, you need to spend money on the siding and roof so that it doesn't look like an industrial building.
  7. If you search the garage journal you will find everything you will ever want to know as just about everything has been covered. However, it requires leg work on your part. You won't get much traction with a "what should I do" thread as there are many guys that are dreaming so those threads get ignored. The building you posted looks awesome. My only thought was to make it look like that and not the industrial building that it actually is requires some expensive siding work that the one in the picture seems to have. My other comment is that you will need multiple access doors and the heating cost with that much space will be tremendous, even at 50 degrees. Also, can I store some cars in it when it is done .
  8. Mike, I think if you put it in High and leave it there you are probably good forever? In my first post I was going to mention they don't exactly sell like hot cakes but since I have one sitting in my garage I thought that was against my best interests.
  9. Is that a 6 cylinder version of the Nickel Alloy 8 that is in the Royale?
  10. There are different ratios and the later one with the highest gearing brings the most. Curt will chime in with the real scoop, Price is probably closer to 2500.00
  11. Neat car. I cross posted it on the Royale Owners forum for you.
  12. Ed, check out the pictures of the Blue sedan I posted above. The Bedford black walls are 700-18 and way too big. The car is supposed to have 650-18s on it. The Bedford 700-18s will also not fit in the wheel well which would require a bunch of rework.
  13. West are those 18 inch? I went back and checked and they look bias-ply although Coker doesn't seem to come right out and say it. https://www.cokertire.com/600-650-18-michelin-dr.html
  14. Welcome. There are definitely lots of Buick guys here to help you.
  15. Hmmmm, the Michelins are radials? I need to pay attention more closely. I agree with you.
  16. Steve Kelly did this rendering of a 8-48 Dietrich Convertible Sedan. Hopefully the real one looks as good as this.
  17. Ed, you know how I feel about white walls. Can't do it. I'm going to try one of these Michelin's which has a copy of a late 20s tread pattern on it. They are really expensive though.
  18. Here are a couple of pictures of a bone stock 8-35 Coupe that was original purchased by the owners great uncle. It is currently be restored.
  19. We are trying to determine the best tires for the Royale. I was very high on the Bedfords as I like the tread pattern but it looks like the 33.25 inch diameter is too big. Here are a couple of photos of a friends car with the Bedfords and with firestone whitewalls.
  20. I've seen that body for sale on and off for a while. Tough part would be finding a chassis and engine!
  21. Nobody would ever say the boys at RM don't know what they are doing and this just reinforces the idea that the factory bodies bring the dough. I can see that I won't be stepping up to a Cab A any time soon.
  22. I'm so happy that car was not painted white!
  23. The 440 probably included the 10% buyers premium.
  24. The other thing is that the 500k/540k chassis is probably the only one I can think of where having a coachbuilt body by anybody other than the factory actually hurts the value.
