clock

BuickLover, It was a joke. I guess some folks don't have sense of humor. Can you post a first name so I know who is flaming me? John, regarding your clock...there are a couple places you can send your clock to be fixed and converted to quartz. Try these on for size: http://www.clockwks.com/CLOCKWORKS/The_Clock_Worx.html or The Clock Doc - 1-800-256-5362
2. Have you considered putting a sport wheel on the car? They look good on the full size cars!
3. If you can get 14,500 out of your Centurion, you're going to see a white convertible for sale here soon Good luck on the sale of your car! It sounds like a gem...
4. Any word on the wagon yet??
5. I had a problem of mysterious coolant disappearances. I had this for about 2 months when I thought it was the gasket that was around the lid of the overflow tank. In reality, it was a bad head gasket that allowed coolant to be burned in the #1 cylinder without me knowing. Until one day, the left bank started blowing white smoke - a common hint that a head gasket is going bye bye. You might want to look into that. Also, yes - the overlofw tank does have a gasket on it. I would assume you could just reseal it with some RTV or something.
6. Yeah it was about 40 degress out when I did it too. Argh! I did do some studying up on how to do it before I tore into the project. I pretty much went in blind, but I figured it out pretty quickly. I had a hard time trying to fit myself under the dash to work...and I'm not a big guy. 5'10" 155lbs still doesn't fit very well between the front seat and the dash
7. I did this a couple months ago in the LeSabre. It was a total PITA. Toal time: 2 hours from start to finish. Now I know exactly how to do it. The hardest part was getting to all the bolts that hold the heater box in.

Le Sabre 1972

Here are your wheel covers! I used to own the car in the picture on the auction. The new owner put new wheels on it and is selling the covers. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...;category=34209
9. Sounds like a good deal as long as the car hasn't been repaired poorly. Make sure you look under the car in the seat area for rust. This is also a bad spot. My car has NO rust anywhere except the floor pan. New top and interior would run about $2000 on the cheap if you had to buy it yourself. Nice find!
10. The last LeSabre convertible was 1975. After that I believe the next BUICK convertible was in 1982 with the Riv. This is a chop job...but probably someone who at least knew what they were doing

14. This car's a money pit but it's worth it so far
15. I know some of you have followed the v8buick thread on this, but I blew a head gasket a couple weeks ago and decided to pull both heads to have them rebuilt to stage1 specs. Well, I didn't need to. They are already stage1's! The block is stamped with TA and the build sheet says it was equipped with the "hi performance 455" option. Were the Stage1 heads the only change in the motor or do I have a whole stage1 motor? What is different about the GS Stg1 and the one I have? Oh yeah...I now have an extra set of stainless valves from TA in anyone needs a set. PS: This is on my Centurion...
16. Bruce, Have you considered spending the money to buy one from Year One? I think they're around $200, but they're nice repros.
17. Do you have an asking price? Is this car on ebay? You may provide a link to your ebay auction, but I don't think this is an auction site. I DO think an asking price is required for posting in the Buy/Sell forum. Cool car, though! Excellent documentation.
18. Steve - You near St. Peters? We should get some Buick folks together and have a look at everyone's cars! I've been wanting to get a bunch of people together from the v8buick.com board, but it's hard to find anyone close to me.
19. I need: Grille Headlight Bezels Carb How much do you want for them?
20. 50/50 This is usually what I do. I haven't heard any different.
21. I need these for a friend. Does anyone have these parts? 70 Skylark Grille 2 LH door hinges - 2DR (I don't know if it makes a difference) Thanks!
