  1. Paul and I had an interesting conversation about this car today...
  2. This guy on v8buick is South a few miles in Winfield. http://www.v8buick.com/member.php?u=15664
  3. I think the reason this thread is quiet, is because Chuck is asking a premium price for his car. Definitely not a bad thing, Chuck! If you want the best price, it takes time. There have already been a couple posts on this thread regarding the asking price, so it's apparent. The 73 appears to be in fantastic condition. I hope that it sells for what you want! Four doors are extremely difficult to get the money they're really worth. Ask me how I know! I sold my 42k mile 71 LeSabre Custom 4 door for $4k 2 years ago. It needed upholstery, so the buyer redid the interior. It is now nearly a perfect car, and it still struggled to get over the $4k mark on ebay, and did not sell. Us 4 door guys have it great if we're buying...but it's nearly impossible to make money on them, unless it is stolen (or given to you )
  4. I thought I answered this already in another thread. Dwell is 30* EDIT: I did: http://forums.aaca.org/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Main/115822/Number/510616#Post510616
  5. Pull the door panels and spray the [censored] out of all the tracks, rollers, and gears with white lithium grease. If you can reach the shaft of the motor itself, that may help as well. The old grease gets dry and hard, causing a lot of the problems associated with slow power windows.
  6. Cool!! Just the other day, I was wondering about your '50. Glad to see you're on the 'wagon again
  7. Do you have power windows? And, have you already added the window frames?
  8. All done with the buffing! Arms and left shoulder are going to be sore tomorrow... I was hoping the repainted quarter panel would blend a little better, but it still sticks out like a sore thumb.
  9. That's the speed alert set at 85...the speedometer needle is orange.
  10. Grabbed some road wheels this evening from a guy on Craigslist...

  12. WAS mine, but not anymore! I'm posting this for John, the current owner of the car. Those of you who saw this car in Rochester in 2006 will appreciate the description, because it's dead on...John also did a killer job installing new carpet & upholstery. http://www.buickcenturion.com/forums/showthread.php?t=719
  13. Derek, if you're registered on v8buick.com, the check out the user "Topcat". He lives in Indiana, and has a few (billion) 66 parts.
  14. Gloss black for the air cleaner Semi-gloss or satin black for everything else.
  15. Are you acquainted with Wild Bill Burton in Indiana?
  16. Duly noted, Roy! I don't think you ruffled any feathers. Thanks for pointing out the louvers. I always get questioned about mine.
  17. If the drains are to become clogged, this can cause rust-out at the base of the trunk lid, and also an "overflowing" situation in hte lid itself....due to the water not being able to go anywhere. Guess where it overflows to - yep, the inside of the trunk.
  18. I think the lowly LeSabre guys are just as welcome in the Centurion forums as the Centurion guys. Being an owner of one LeSabre AND Centurion, I am hopeful the members will accept me as one of their own
  19. For sure - yes, the door windows will swap. If I were a bettin' man (which I am), then I am fairly sure the quarter windows will swap.
  20. I need to towel off my desk from the drool!! Interesting about the stripe. I'd like to see a buildsheet.
  21. Also could've been the radiator cap. That's one of the most common causes of overheating (and cheapest to repair)..aside from the thermostat. The only thing a blockage in the heater core will cause is a problem with the blower blowing hot air. On the other hand, if the heater core leak was bad enough, it could cause a problem with the cooling system holding preassure, and wanting to boil over at lower temps.
  22. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: JohnD1956</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Not to argue, but the older generation 322 cu Nailheads had a plate, like mine, that is held on with two bolts. Can someone else confirm this, as I am not certain when the plug was incorporated? </div></div> Ah...I had no idea. Thanks for the clarification.
  23. The underside of the intake has a "plug" that will rust through. I've been told it's replaceable, but is better to find another intake.
  24. Eastwood cast iron exhaust manifold paint... http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=733&itemType=PRODUCT
