  1. Craft Customs does great work ! I have had a grey wheel re covered on my 90 coupe - they did use a slightly thicker hide or some padding. I have also re dyed. KDirk and 63viking added appropriate comments. Is waaaay more reasonable, but will wear......I guess just as original dyed coverings do - especially (not kidding) if you wear a ring, drive with dirty/gritty/sweaty hands. I have used water based dyes by SEM and that product has had fairly good and long lasting results......
  2. Hi Kingsley, and Thanks for the nice and informative reply/information. I am waiting on some financial information before I make any decisions - will send you a pm, and thanks again !! Nic
  3. I may have to ship a car a decent amount of mileage. Does anyone on the forum have any experience with shippers....and maybe could recommend a reliable insured shipper please? Distance will be around 1000 miles.... Thanks, Nic

  5. Hi Kingsley ! I had the same condition when I bought my 91 roadster years ago. A new top was installed about a year previous to my purchase, and the window was separating from the top at the top of the window/glass. I contacted a good top shop, and they sent a fellow out with some sort of good adhesive and a roll of tape. He applied the glue and taped it to hold tight, and advised me to remove the tape after 24 hours. I am sorry but I did not inquire about the type of adhesive as I didn't think I would have to deal with the same situation again. Call or stop by a good top or upholstery shop in your area and ask for guidance (name of the appropriate adhesive). Oh, it has been probably 8 years since the glue application and no worries as all. Nic

  9. Gentlemen, Sorry for the lack of a timely response ....... I got sidetracked - had to make a visit to the Richmond VA Medical Center.....thankfully made it back to see the New Year come in. Many thanks for the replies. I bought a pewter Reatta years ago, and had it displayed on a table in the living room. Several months ago I had a cleaning service at the house and just before I posted this question on the value of the model I noticed it was on a different table. I picked it up to move it back to where I had it, and one of the wood supports on the stand was broken loose. Upon inspection of the car itself the roof was mushed in or down towards the body and the roof, dash, and body had some "nicks" or scratches. No doubt someone apparently had dropped it.. No one else has been in the living room and or has handled the pewter model - so I am positive the cleaning service was/is responsible for the damage. I am going to contact the service and see what they have to say. Not sure about insurance. Again thanks for the replies and Happy New Year Everyone....... OPPS....The pewter model has a number on the bottom near the rear bumper of "040" . Would that number possibly have any effect on the value please?
  10. Does anyone know the availability and value of the small pewter Reatta coupe models please - need the information for insurance purposes.... Thanks
  11. Good Morning Folks, I am trying (DESPERATE) to get back into the Reatta Experience. I have finished the over a year long task of physically moving my household to a larger home with a***Garage***, and would like to resume with restorations, upkeep and contributing to and learning from this absolute Great Forum. I have to get insurance to operate my 3 Reattas with of course and having difficulty finding a company to insure them due to certain restrictions. So far I have only contacted American Collectors Insurance Company which USAA had suggested and they have a restriction that if your current or your daily driver unit can not be within 10 model years of the cars that you wish to insure under a Collectors Policy - Huh - what gives there you wonder ( : ) ). Anyway can some or any of you folks with experience in collector car insurance please give me a shout as to what companies that they may have had some luck insuring their Reatta/s with pleeeeeease? I would like to insure my Select Sixty with 38k on the clock and my 91 Roadster with an odometer reading of approximately 60k. Both automobiles are inexcellent condition, have original paint, and are garaged. ANY helpwould be greatly appreciated, and Thanks ! ! ! Nic If desired my emaill address is jnicwalker@aol.com or can use the forum email system as well......
  12. Well I guess I deserve to feel like an idiot. After seeing the excessive cranking attempts and the sparks flying I really thought that the guy that works for me had destroyed the electrics on the coupe. I have a totally awesome battery charger with a really neat heavy duty "start" feature and after an hour or so of charging and incorporating the start feature the coupe started right up. I really am sorry for pestering you folks for no reason...BUT do thank you for the suggestions / guidance / rescue attempts.... All is Ok, and Sincerely, Nic
  13. Thanks for the replies/suggestions folks. Usually all grounds/terminals are kept perfect, but I have checked regardless. I looked at the fuseable link but guess I do not know what to look for there - nothing appears burnt - just two cables with nuts and nothing in between?????. I am charging the battery with a heavy duty charger now to see what happens. Will report back and thanks again for the help. Oh what abnormality should I look for in the fuseable link red box please?
  14. Please someone give me some ideas - is there a SPECIAL fuse somewhere that I might have blown maybe? Could the ECM / ICM maybe be burned up? Help please ! If you want you can send suggestions to my email address which is jnicwalker@aol.com THANKS ! Nic (Hi CarGirl)
  15. 90 coupe had a dead battery. The fellow that works for me placed the positive cable from the jump box on the negative battery terminal - I saw him fiddling with it and it sparked - pulled it off but then won't start (nothing) when reinstalled correctly. What has burned up or what should I do please? Thanks, Nic

  20. Yeaaaaa for the Cargirl ! ! ! For those that do not know the Young Lady, She is an old time, and very good friend of the Forum. We are exceptionally fortunate to have her, and the many contributions that will accompany her back with us.....Yeaaaaaaaa . Nic
  21. Hi HandMeDown..... If you are referring to my last entry about the U Haul Hitch - I was just referring to your earlier post entry higher up or above in this string of posts in which you provided a link to U haul. In the link to U Haul a person may put in the year, make, and model of the owned vehicle (in our case a Reatta), and U Haul will come back with Availability and Pricing. Thanks again for providing the link, Nic FWIIW the price of the Reatta Hitch was around $199.
  22. Hi Folks and thanks for the replies....I have been totally unable to reply until now....I appreciate the suggestions and guess I will have to resort to U Haul. I only tow a 4 X 8 utility trailer and the last time I had a need for a hitch was for my coupe - I took a hitch from an old small Olds station wagon and had a independent shop modify and install it to the bumper and floorboard of the coupe and it worked fine. The U Haul will probably be much stronger - neater -better. Thanks again, Nic
  23. I haven't seen any current information on trailer hitches - does anyone know of any providers of a hitch that will fit - work on our automobiles please? Thanks, Nic
  24. Opps - forgot.... Any suggestions as to where the hard black plastic tubing can be purchased please?
