  1. I bought this one. I now have two - one for the office with other Reatta posters and one for the garage. Two bothers or confusing issues: 1 - Not the same size - 1 small and 1 big ????? 2 - I paid 30 some dollars for the 1st and smaller print many years ago - maybe 2006 thru 2008. Wonder want happened to the value? Any comments or knowledge appreciated.......
  2. Good Sunday Morning !!!! And thank you both for the replies/information and the film. Film is a Good - Great - Excellent Tutorial and very much appreciated ! I have dyed some automotive and boat upholstery before, but never actually repaired age or accident related damages (reason/s for my post), and did not even know that there was a leather filler available. The saying about teaching an old dog new tricks certainly applies here as the film provided Great Information and Tips. I found the venues 866 telephone number in Canada, and intend on calling Monday with some product questions and an order. I now won't have to place an order on Amazon for products that are guesses. As usual you fellows and the forum are the Absolute Best !
  3. Thanks for the reply Digger914. Appreciate the advise greatly - could you possible suggest a better kit that you suggest - not wealthy by any means but in complete agreement as far as spending more to get better - thanks again..... Opps - when searching for a better kit I noticed a ton of leather "restorers". Would really appreciate some suggestions - advice on this type of product as well if possible - thanks ! Nic
  4. Morning Folks ! I have a couple of tiny splits in the vinyl of my left or drivers side gray door panel in the 90 coupe. I will replace the panel if I can find one in good or better condition than mine, but was also looking on the net and found several repair kits marketed by companies such as JB Weld, Leather New, etc......(example below). I was/am curious if anyone on the forum has had any experience with these particular kits or any of the numerous others that are offered - available.....please advise, and Thanks! 5. Ditto On Ronnies and everyones comments Kingsley, We never did get a roadster or convertible wind screen developed, but I certainly enjoyed working with you (still have my prototype around somewhere I think). Due to some Military disabilities I have been off the forum for a while, but hopefully intend on "rejoining" and hope to see/read an update from you now and then Sir Sincerely, Nic
  6. For some reason I could not post a link to a Select Sixty you tube "film" at a car show. The post above this one has the link in the title line and it works. The owner has a nice car of course, but also has some nice documentation of which there is an item or two that I do not think we or the forum are aware of - Mr. Eaton can you view and advise???
  7. SS "Film" at a car show - this forum won't let me post the link for some reason - neat presentation - just click on the link in the subject line - there is some literature that some of us that have SS models may not have or are aware of..... copy title and view
  8. I am not sure if the forum has any good leads on replacement carpeting or not. I just found what seems to be an excellent source. Venue or merchant is the "AutoMat Store" in Columbia Missouri. A super nice and exceptionally helpful young lady named Samantha spent a good while with me on the phone and is sending me free samples for "Flame Red" carpeting for the Select Sixty. The supplying factory does not have a Flame Red variety of carpet. My Flame Red carpet is not worn but has some sort of strange coffee appearing stain in several places. Samantha seems to think it could be the jute under the carpet that may have gotten wet at some point, but the car only has 40k on the clock and has always been garaged - anyone have any condition/s like this or have any idea what could have caused it please? Smantha/AutoMat Store contact number if needed is 1.573.355.5368 Thanks, Nic
  9. Thanks much for your thoughts folks. I will leave the treatment on the shelf, and leave it to - and let my Beneficiary or beneficiaries worry about what to do with it :).
  10. Schaeffer Manufacturing Co. 0132-023S Moly EP Oil Treatment I picked up a pint of this product on sale a good while ago (did not research before I purchased - was really reduced in price a lot - like 3 or $4.00). I just now read some of the reviews, and most folks are really impressed with it - I never normally add anything to the crankcase and was wondering if it would be advisable - and / or can I have some opinions please?
  11. I never knew about this...I have always had the S/S listed, but will add the 90 coupe and 91 roadster immediately.
  12. Roadster90

    power seat

Is there any noise - clicking, or motor noise when the activation toggle is engaged?
  13. Thanks Dashmaster - I just returned to the forum recently from a long absence, and among other difficulties have apparently experienced a loss of memory -- totally forgot about Ronnies Store - will go there now....maybe what he has will suffice... Can someone in the know please advise on the originality of the wires in above post "A/C Delco - Packard 8mm" Nic
  14. There are several sets of A/C Delco plug wires on Amazon for the 1990 models. There is one listed at about 15.00 and the ad states original GM fitment....But there are several "professional" sets that have more "features" for twice that amount - I have no idea what some of the features are or if these feature are absolutely necessary. Is the below set appropriate for .......Keeping Everything As ORIGINAL as Possible......for my 1990 Select Sixty please? A/c Delco 616V GM Wires OR https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BYGCJI/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1H2Y8SWATZCTZ ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************* Also can someone tell me if the ones I have are original please - they are black and have the printing "A/C Delco - Packard 8mm". The car is running fine and not missing with 44k so if original I would hold on to or keep them - please advise? Thanks Folks, Nic
  15. Just reading over the posts again..... Machiner 55 just scared tha heck out of me- how often do these actuator arms break????
  16. Geeeeeeze ! What would any of us do without this Forum - you Folks are Fantastic. Thanks for all of the help, pictures and everything - really grateful guys..... And could not even find a vacuum line anywhere near the module I was messing around with the other day when I had the no start difficulties - all of that "stuff" was /is located on top of the "tunnel" next to the gas pedel - and wires running over top of the brake pedel to another small relay or something hanging down near the hand brake - what a mess (wish I could just go "a ripping away", but will wait until someone can tell me how to get rid of it appropriately ) From searching there I went under the hood and found the problem at the "T" - from what I can figure the same as what Guest of you all here wrote below: .... ********************************************************************************************************************************************** "The "main" vacuum line for the entire system- starts at the Vacuum Block, on top of the Plenum. It Tees off, 1 check valve, to a nylon line- that's inside the Main Harness." ************************************************************************************************************************************************ It looks as if the hard plastic vac line melted when it laid up against what appears to be an "engine pulling steel bracket". I have had this happen on one of the cars before and should have gone there immediately......has just been so long since I have worked on the cars that I seem to have forgot much - much and more much. Anyway I patched the line with a larger sized piece of tubing from supplies and used a stay strap to keep it from re occuring. Again thanks so much folks - hope I don't pester the forum any more for a while Nic
  17. Thanks Guest of you all here ! I read the entire link that you provided and may have found the problem at the bottom entries. Chris Whewell posted that there was a loose vacuum line under the dash on the drivers side that resolved his situation. A few days ago and exactly.....or just after when I was having starting difficulties with that dang accessory security system is w the a/c started the blowing through the defroster vents issue I believe. I was "frantically" very busy messing around in that area pulling down and disconnecting and reconnecting the security control module, the wires, fuses, etc and so on and to the module and surrounding paraphernalia . After the starting issue was resolved is when I noticed the a/c problem *Bets are on that I pulled loose the vacuum line that Chris Whewell was referring to in the linked posts you provided - thanks again. It is to early to go to the garage and research this theory, but will as soon as it gets light out ...... and will report back. This forum and its participants are and have always been the Greatest !!!!!! If memory serves correct (I have not worked on these cars in roughly 5 + year) there is another vacuum line that works loose at times. This line runs to the bcm I think and it is located next to the ecm????? Am I dreaming again???? Maybe it controls something else???
  18. I have one in that color combination and was told the build number was 13 and 3 of those were crushed due to cowl shake. How correct that is I do not know - not documented I do not think.....
  19. Slowly but surely attempting to get my Reattas back to near where they were before some negatives intervened several years ago. My cars were ...... and still close to great condition with low miles except for the 1990 coupe that I use as a driver - coupe is still a great unit mechanically and for the most part cosmetically but has right front damage where a neighbor backed into it, drivers seat needs re dying, and it does have 140k on the clock. I intend on getting 1 or 2 back to "pride" or superior condition again (especially the S/S - only has 44k and only problem is the front under bumper cowl has rock chips and needs to be squirted). The S/S also has a couple of brown spots on the red carpeting that look like coffee stains, but nothing has ever been spilt on the carpet. I think some carpeting glue residue has seeped through the carpet and discolored it - Any Ideas please ain Current Difficulty. I at one time think that I knew what to do to resolve the a/c pumping cool out of the dash defroster vents and foot well, but dang if I can remember what to do to solution the problem now. Can someone in the know lend me some guidance please? Is my thinking on track to take the glove box out and free up some fresh air vents or flaps? Help please.... Thanks, Nic
  20. Dashmaster, Thanks for the instructions - I don't understand them, but will give to a technician that helps me when needed - he will use to uninstall. Thinking back I remember seeing this "thing" when I bought the car some 16 years ago, and at the time just decided to keep my fingers crossed.
  21. Guest of you all here>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>AGAIN, Thanks again for your reply and help - most GREATLY appreciated Sir ! B U T it had no effect at all. Nothing - nada ........ durnit ! Anyway, don't ask me how I figured this out as I am definitely not electrically blessed repair wise. It is (hopefully) fixed - maybe only temporarily - time and usage will tell........ It does have an accessory system installed. I went under the dash/steering wheel and found a relay or module of some sort with a little red light that was on - it was located or hanging sloppily by a couple of wires by the handbrake lever. I followed the wires to the center of the underdash paneling, and what a pile of TRASH did I find (HANGING BY WIRES SLOPPILY AS WELL). There was a nice identifying label attached to large module (half the size of an ECM) with "Mr. Goodwrench Theft Deterrent System" on the nice label. Oh thank my heavenly stars for such an interesting and life saving device that some very concerned individual installed on the poor car. The local trash dump will be enhanced forever by its arrival as soon as I can figure how to remove it totally and successfully. In the wiring harness to this piece of junk were two separate fuse holders. I remove the fuses one at a time and reinstalled (which must have reset this awful contraption ......I have other more appropriate defining words for it - not for publication/posting here however) which allowed the car to start. Wheeeeeew. Now I can get some gas for the generators so I can have a fan and a light for a day or so until the power is restored. Again thanks for the help folks........ and sorry for the sarcasm (I am sure all who have read the above can understand my happiness) Sincerely, Nic
  22. Guest of you all here....I am going to the garage to try your instructions now - will report back momentarily.... Thanks for replying Sir, Nic
  23. I think I might have something a little - NO A LOT DIFFERENT MAYBE .... DARNIT. My original or natural OEM horn only blows intermittently where I think it should blow all the time when the emergency or alarm system is activated. SOMEONE HOWEVER has installed an additional SIREIN (it is located in front of the Teeves master cylinder - it has two wires going to it and the opposite direction of the wires goes through or disappears along with some other wires to something else through the firewall or maybe to the ignition - steering column) (no lights in the garage due to the power outage......errrrrrrrr) HELP ! This must be an accessory type of alarm system.
  24. Turning the key in the door lock usually was a temporaryy fix for mine as well >>>>>>>>>>>>>> BUT NOT THIS TIME - THAT FIX IS NOT - I REPEAT ...... That Fix Is NOT WORKING - NOT HELPING AT ALL. I need to disconnect something - help please?????? And Thanks Nic
  25. I only have working a/c in the 90 Select Sixty. Yesterday I put the S/S in the lead spot in the garage (clogging up other cars) and went to start to get gas for the generator due to electrical outage we had Monday (we had a bad - very very bad storm in Bon Air Virginia). Anyway the alarm went off along with the little flashing light on the center console, and I can not get the symptom to STOP and the car to START. It will NOT RESET with anything I do to it (playing with the door lock and disconnection of the battery etc and so on - HELP PLEASE - how do I disconnect the alarm system and start the car - pleeeease????? Reports are that the electrical will not be restored until late Friday afternoon. Will loose refrigerated food and no fans in100* + temperatures "HELP" again please ?????????? Nic
