    KEY/S

Good Morning Folks ! I have never lost a key to an automobile before.....But nothing is more constant than change - sadly in this case I have lost - misplaced the extra keys to two of the Reatta (actually both sets of keys to the 90 coupe, but after a week I heard something clicking around in the washer and have found one of the sets...those keys and fob are currently in a bowl of rice to dry out). Being that they or the ignition key has an electronic do dodday on the leg of the key how do I go about getting a replacement while keeping the "combination" or whatever the same please? Thanks !
  4. What are they going for now days Barney....generally and especially the gray ones please?
  5. I posted looking for a near mint gearshift console cover for my 1990 Select Sixty about a year ago and did not receive any replies. Still in need. I left something with some detrimental plastic substance on the cover right where the coin slots are located and it was damaged - kind of melted. Not broken but sure would like to find a nice one.....fingers are crossed
  6. Padgett, No Sir I have not - did not realize the complicated alarm was in the manual as it was some sort of add on....But will of course - mny friend is coming over tonight or tomorrow to take a look see. Thanks for the guidance Sir, :) Nic
  7. Good Afternoon Folks ! Sorry for the long post below..... I have had nothing but problems problems problems with the Select60 factory alarm system..... Most of the time when I used to lock and or unlock (I have not locked the car in years due to this alarm system) ...... the siren sounds and headlights flash and will not turn off for anything unless I remove a fuse. this embarrassing action also occurs when I have to disconnect the battery for any action even unrelated to the alarm system. The only way to cease the siren and lights from flashing is to remove one of the two fuses (not sure which one) from their holders in the alarms wiring harness. After removal of the fuse it can not be re installed back in to the holder or the alarm starts its embarrassing action again. This goes on for an extended amount of time - approximately 30 minutes at which time the fuse can be re installed and everything returns back to "normal". The wiring harness for the system is a bunch of or gathered mess/ball of wires with the two fuse holders - fuses and a module of some sort located in the dash under the radio (or in the dash over the "tunnel" so to write). This mess of wires continuously falls on to the gas and brake pedals (exceptionally dangerous). I have tried many times to put it (stuff it) back, but there is really nothing appropriate to re attach - re mount the module/relay and wires to. I have a fellow/mechanic that helps me when I can’t figure something out with the cars and he is coming over tonight to possibly disconnect or fix the system. A good while ago Barney located and sent me an electrical diagram but the mechanic was scratching his head when I gave it to him several weeks ago. This Select60 is a exceptionally nice specimen and I intend to keep it, but would really like to be able to dismiss this problem. Everything else except the alarm system is fine - great. The only problem with removing the system entirely is there is a red blinking warning light fixture just in front of the gearshift selector and or in the black console cover - I would have to find another console cover in new condition if I trashed the system. If I fix the system or continue to use it the wiring harness also has several wires that are completely disconnected from something related to the system and have about 1/2 inch stripped off of the ends (another potential hazard). Now I have not caused these problems - I inherited them when I bought the car....... I sent the above request for help to Barney several days ago and apparently he is out of town or involved in something where he has not seen it. I hope the above makes sense....................I have the mechanic coming over to address the situation tonight, sooooo Any help with the above would be most greatly appreciated, and Thanks !!!
  8. Looking for a good 90 - if anyone has one please advise in a P.M. with price....... I have already checked with Jim - he doesn't have one.
  9. The only mount I have had to replace is the "dog bone" mount on top of the engine - simple to replace if you have a floor jack to hold the engine up to facilitate replacing. See if someone on the forum has a spare factory manual you could purchase reasonably. I think these mounts may be available through regular parts retailers/wholesalers.......or if not I also would think some of our forum members might be able to help you out with used items as well. Opps .....if you have or are in adverse high mileage and or weather affected locations there may be bottom mounts affected as well ......
  10. 19" Michelin High Performance All Season Wiper Blades at Walmart for $6.27 !
  11. Thanks 2seater....Long time since communicated - hope everything is great with you. On the brake fluid....I have 3 Reatta to service (have neglected my cars for several years due to a move and other difficulties), and Amazon would not let me purchase but 6 -12 ounce cans. I will have to look elsewhere to get appropriate amount of fluid - thanks again :), Nic
  12. 303 is also on sale at Amazon for 9.00 a bottle.....
  13. Amazon has Castrol Dot 4 for about $1.90 a can !! A couple of questions please: I think Dot 4 is appropriate for both 90 and 91? how much fluid is necessary for a change (complete) please or how many cans....I think 12 ounce cans are what are advertised at that price? Thanks for any help !
  14. Thanks All for the informative ideas/suggestions and images....I feel that I now have what I need to find and purchase an appropriate mount........greatly appreciated . And Thanks Barney for the hidden 12 V / Hot wire location underneath the center arm rest storage compartment .........

  18. I need a close to mint as possible black shift console insert, and just saw Ronnie's Post (2nd post down on the Buy/Sell Forum)....Outstanding as usual - Thanks !!!!
  19. Curious - I have no present problems but I have 2 - 90 models. I bought a used headlight switch from Jim several years back and so far no problems. Does anyone know if there are new parts available, and if so where please (such as the accumulator, cylinder rebuild kit, etc)? .... Thanks !
  20. Something that I laid (like something plastic that had a chemical reaction with the bezel material) on the long bezel from the dash area to the arm rest damaged it (like melted the plastic darnit). This is on my low mileage nice Select Sixty so I need a replacement in excellent condition (the silver outline trim etc). I have a collection of spare parts so I may have one, but will still need to replenish if I do and use - no rush as car is operable. Need suggestions or where to go to find one please and thanks....
  21. Waaaaay To Go CarGirl....Absolutely Gorgeous 1991 Automobile ! ! ! Nic
  22. I was driving along a secondary road last week and saw a for sale vehicle sitting on the side of the road. I kept driving and it hit me - a Reatta !!! Actually felt silly after that, but turned around and had a look-see. 1988 with a sun roof and burgundy interior. Body looked straight, but had aftermarket mags. Didn't spend any more time as I want another 91. If anyone is interested send me a message and I will forward contact information.......
