  1. Also, noticed that the bottom of the cowl is missing and no firewall. Sure looks like it was the start of a streetrod that someone gave up on....
  2. That is the 128 Fast Four engine. The carb is in the right place, but is not the carb that orginally came with the engine. My 1928 sedan has the same engine and two wheel brakes. The last of the Fast Four cars had four wheel brakes. The cowl looks to be an earlier vintage as my sedan has an oval gauge cluster rather then the triangle shaped one.
  3. Thanks Guys. Antique Auto Ranch was on my list, but I thought I would see if there was anyone else around. Jim
  4. I'm looking for suggestion/recommendations on who I might use to rebuild my Fast Four engine? I would like to find someone in the Pacific Northwest. Thanks, <O:p</O:p Jim
  5. It's nice that the color pictures from the meet are on the DBC web site. 2010 - Mason-Dixon Meet, Gettysburg Pa
  6. Was I the only lucky one whose copy of this months DBCN had poor picture quality? All the photos were washed out, which was a shame because I really enjoy looking at the pictures of the national meet. Just curious...... Jim
  7. Just an observation, but regardless of where the info is stored, someone would need to look it up. I'm not sure that it would be fair to assume that John has the time to look up the information and then get it scanned, faxed, sent etc. Gee, maybe there is a new club postion to be had here - a Club Archivist. They could be paid just like the AACA, but all the proceeds going to the Club. Of course there is still the question of safe storage.... BTW, I'm not volunteering for this "new" position. Jim
  8. Sure looks like an original, but it is the manual that is being (or at least was being) reprinted. Not any real good info that pertains to the "Fast Four" in it though.
  9. Jon - Thanks for the info, now I know what to do when the carb floods. Of course sometimes I will remove the dust cap and lift on the rod so that I can tell if the carb is getting gas. By lifting up on the rod eventially gas will come pouring out and I know that there is gas in the vacuum tank.
  10. I've got one on my 1928 Fast Four.....
  11. Thanks Dave, I kind of figured that on the idle, but wasn't sure about the filter staying full.....
  12. I'm just wondering if anyone has had troubles using an in-line fuel filter on the DB's that use vacuum tanks? I put one in near the vacuum tank and expected that I would see the filter fill with gas. What I see is about the bottom quarter of the fuel filter fill with gas when the vacuum tank sucks gas from the gas tank and then once the vacuum tank is full the gas in the filter drops to where you barely see it. After a few minutes of idling the car will start to run a little rough as the vacuum tank gets ready to suck more gas from the gas tank. Once the fuel enters the filter the idle starts to smooth out. Does anyone know if this is normal? Seems like once the car is up and running you wouldn't want air in the gas line..... Maybe I need a different filter? Thanks for the help. Jim
  13. Wish I could have made it, it sure looks like a great time. Maybe this fall.....
  14. Sorry Jeff, someone else beat you to it..... Thanks....
  15. What, no one? They are free.....
  16. I know you have been swampped with questions on the car, but please put me on the list of those that are interested. I do have a couple of questions on the car, so when you get a chance shoot me an e-mail (janselmo_1962@yahoo.com) or call me at 509-951-7133. Thanks, Jim
  17. Anyone have information on Traco down draft intakes? I was given a set along with some heads for a 300 (and I think a 215) and wondering if anyone has seen this type of set-up? Looks like the intakes would each take 2 48mm weber carbs.
  18. I have the following two original 1959 Cadillac items in excellent shape. If anyone is interested in them let me know.....
  19. Any vendor recommendations as far as reproduction trunk sheet metal? The trunk in my convertible is nearly non-existent and I want to be sure and buy quality parts. Also any tips or suggestions on the replacement? Thanks, Jim
