1. Many thanks, and blessings!
  2. Barney, my '89 touchscreen is giving me problems.
Sometimes I get wiggly lines for about 5 min, other times nothing works to touch for 2/3 minutes then returns to normal.
Do you have a number for a trade out service.
  3. Too much wine:
I went with
and I think
  4. 88/89 had 8 speakers 5.25 plus tweeter in front 4 ohm. Rear same speaker size, but 10 ohm, so not to over power the fronts due to their low door placement. 90-91 had 6x9 in the rear, not sure of the ohm.
I when with Infinity Kappa 50.3 up front, and 60.3 in rear which are 6.5".
Key thing up front is the mounting depth;
I thing we have 2-1/8" exact-fit.
I'm going to install a amp for a cleaner sound.
  5. I would recommend both. The service manual is a must have, but the owners covers the touchscreen features, plus every car should have a owners manual handy.
  6. Go to a muffler shop and put the car on a lift with motor running.
Could be a broken rubber hanger(O-Ring). Which puts the intermediate pipe in contact with the bracket.
  7. Coming soon to car, on the Web now..free, free.
1. Must register
2. Log-in and listen
3. 100 channels music, news, talk, sports, speedvision, etc.
4. Free for now.
http://www.siriusradio.com/servlet/snav?/servlet/index.jsp
Greg
  8. Update:
I got lucky and met a straight forward, honest fellow here in Atlanta who knows his stuff. He knew a little bit about Reatta?s; he showed me a letter from another Reatta owner in his testimonial folder.
He does no-cost inspections; turns out my noise was coming from my exhaust pipe tapping a brace. That?s the good news, the bad my pan gasket was leaking in several places and I had some other small leaks. He didn?t recommend changing the fluid or the gasket because it may cause more problems for me.
Down the road I am looking at a rebuilt to the tune of $1000-1800. But, I drove away without dropping a dollar- how about that.
I was there a couple of hours while my auto cooled down, and he was giving everyone top-notch service.
The guy even has his mother working at the place.
Phil Esposito a New Yorker, owner/operator
Cottman Transmission: 770-980-1220, cottmancobbpkw@aol.com
Fun thing I stated earlier I was going to see the doctor, little did I know on his business card it states, ?Your Transmission Physician?????.this guy is real
He even changed the radio station so could read my book.
Greg
  9. Thanks, I have a appointment with the doctor scheduled for tomorrow, over the phone they pretty much stated what you did.
I have the filter/fluid still in a bag since three weeks, the holidays got in the way.
  10. My '89 113k, transaxle sometimes makes a grinding noise when the car <in park> is cold.
When the car warms up the noise goes away.
Any idea's out there?

    Used remotes

I just ordered my remote from: www.remotesunlimited.com at 1-877-719-1900. For $59.00. They are making them for us now, 4 button.
They said thanks for the business.
We need more vendors....
  15. How are these remotes working?
My 1989 Owners Manual shows a FCC# GQ43VT1 for the remote.
  16. How do I contact this company??
  17. I just finished testing the tire/wheel combo from tirerack. They were concerned with my combination, 225/60/16. I only purchased one the check the clearance. The source of any problem would be the front strut spring tower base. With my combo there is a 3/4 inch clearance to spare. I would not recommend a taller tire than this. I wanted to use this size to reduce the fender gap.
<See chart in above posts for the correct overall height>.
  18. I was trying to post a direct link for the vent glass website, but it doesn't work.
  19. http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=selectTree&CatalogID=2&siteid=809
  20. I will be changing mine in the next couple of weeks. '89
  21. I just recieved the tire and wheel I ordered.
On reading the Yokohama tire warranty I see that the warranty does not cover "Improper application of tire size and/or specification". So I am on my own...with the 225/60/16. But, maybe I will get lucky.
  22. Just got a service manual from Helminc.com for $90 brand new.
  23. Question: Are the '89 front strut mounts generic?
Will KYB mounts work with Monroe Sensatrac struts.
Tirerack has the KYB for $57 ea, and every place else has the Monroe for $72 ea.
  24. Thanks, I just got my '89 owners manual and '89 service manual, final edition from 'Helm'. $20 for one and $90 for the other; they look brand new. I guess my car will be getting all the Xmas gifts this year.
  25. Off topic: I'm in the market for a new socket set. Is the Reatta metric or SAE?
