1. Mine does that too. Mostly on the passenger side. Looks like I got a body in my trunk. Wondering about replacing lower control arm?
2. I had a fence fall on my drivers vent window which I had to replace. When I installed I set the bottom of the window glass channel "out" as far as I could before tightening bolt hoping to press the vent window tighter against the rubber seal at top and reduce water seepage. It does help. Also wipe vaseline into rubber seals-repels water(and keeps doors from freezing shut in winter).
3. Storm came through and blew a section of fence against my Reatta. The mirror took the brunt and survived but the qtr panel window is cracked crystal. Any body know of a spare one available?
4. Discovered a crack between two of the holes in one of my wheels. Anybody have an extra? I'll drive 150 miles from Columbus Oh to pick up or we can ship. lemme know by e-mail. (embpoint@aol.com) Thanks
5. Passenger low beam on my 89 Reatta was dead. Replaced headlight and still no low beam. Hi beam works fine. Is there a positive jumper wire that leads from drivers side to passenger side I should be isolating for continuity? Other suggestions?
6. This is a sunday 10-6-02 event. Registration sun 9:30 am. This is not a Reatta event. Many classics will be represented. 60-75 Mile Cruise starts and finishes at Flanagan's Tavern, 3001 Reynoldsburg-NewAlbany Rd in Blacklick Ohio. Registration fee 10.00/participant or hand. You will be given a route with several ckpoints. At each ckpoint you will receive an envelope containing a playing card. Open the envelopes after completion and best poker hand wins. Proceeds to Kimberly Broas Memorial Scholarship Fund. Should be a nice dry day to show off your (and my) Reatta.
7. I've occasionally caught my 89 Reatta oil pressure gage displaying numbers in the 200-230 pound range. My God! That's a lot of pressure. If the engine blows I'll probly take half the city with me.
8. looking for remote keyless to add to my keychain for my 89 reatta. Tired of waiting for one on ebay. Anybody?
9. Berwick/Bexley area. Bot my white 89 a year ago on ebay
10. Had to replace ashtray light and while I had the console apart decided to look at replacing the crappy looking tape under the shifter.
1. Pull retainer pin from back side of shift knob. Use needle nose pliers. Shift knob lifts off.
2. 4 friction clips hold shifter console plate in place. Pry gently at 10:00 2:00 5:00 and 7:00. Once up, remove electrical connector and take the plate into the kitchen.
3. Look at the way the 3 screws and springs hold everything together. Once you're sure you can put it back together remove the 3 screws/springs and set aside.
4. Look at the tape. Its 1 1/4 inches wide and does not cover the edges of the metal coil. Thats because the edges are lubricated with lithium grease and must be bare metal to slide in the retainers. I found Scotch brand vinyl tape at the hardware store in 1 1/2 in wide roll. Pull off a piece long enough to cover the entire coil and then some. I pinned the tape down on a smooth piece of lumber (Do this in a clean environment)STICKY SIDE UP and used a ruler to cut 1/4 inch off the edge. I then used the ruler to measure and cut a rectangle in te middle of the tape for the grommet. Keep the tape clean!!!
5. Remove all traces of old tape and residue from the coil. I used paint thinner. When you apply the new tape start from the grommet and make sure the tape is going on straight. Do one half completely then go back and do other half. You can move the coil within its limits to help in applying, when you reach the physical limits there's still a couple inches to stick on. Use a knife or precision screwdriver to push the tape through the slot and wrap on around the back of the coil. Put all the stuff back together. Looks like new!
11. Anybody want to tell me what their serial # is on the back of their keyless remote. Im trying to compile a list of compatible remotes. Thanks
12. Im trying to keep the armrest as strong as possible for as long as possible but I catch myself putting my stupid elbow in that one soft spot. There are tiny cracks starting to show and I'm wondering if anybody's had any experience filling the cracks with colored silicone or vinyl patch. Any thoughts?
