  1. Thanks Lamar. How can I post pictures on this board?
  2. Hello Everyone, Well selling a classic car on eBay is an experience that I won't soon be repeating. Anyway, I still have the car, and I would like to sell it... still. Not sure how the fumes affected my brain asking $15k last year. I think $6k is more like it. Thanks for reading! Robert Vachris Castle Rock, CO robert@peripheraltelecom.com 303-979-2120
  3. Hello, I have a 66 wildcat GS convertible that I need to sell. It's a great car that is probably too nice for parting out. But I figured I'd let you know. Asking $6000. Thanks and regards, Robert robvac3@aol.com 303-204-7751
  4. Hello Everyone! You can see this one on Ebay: eBay Funny thing is, the guy who originally restored it 10 years ago contacted me about the car after seeing it on eBay. It was originally purchased from Grimes Buick in Helena, MT. He is certain it is authentic, but of course, no paperwork to prove it... yet.
  5. Sweet car. Runs great. No significant rust. It was a California car and now Colorado (with a brief stint in Vermont). Has all GS stickers, emblems and parts (Chrome air cleaner, aluminum valve covers, blue tire pressure sticker in the glove box, etc.). Missing original engine and trans (instead has a 401 from a ?65). Convertible top has recently been restored, with glass in tact. Rear seat with speaker has been reupholstered. Interior is custom with buckets (which need some work). Non-original paint is mediocre at best, yet the car still looks sharp. Great candidate for restoration. I have plenty of pictures available and more details about the car for anyone interested. I have not done anything to it other than research on authenticity? mostly on this board (2001-2002). Authentic or clone, still a rare Buick. Asking $15k/OBO. Posting on this board first? then on to E-bay. Robert Vachris Castle Rock, CO robert@peripheraltelecom.com 303-979-2120
  6. Thanks. I am fairly certain that my tag says BJ (I will triple check when the snow melts). How else can I tell the difference between a 300 and a 400? What are the differences?<P>I was also told that the VIN# is stamped on the other side of the transmission, but I could not find it.
  7. Does anyone have the ID codes for any of the transmissions available on a 1966 Wildcat? Can anyone decipher mine? BJ-65-23087<P>I'm thinking my trans is from '65, but what do I know. That's why I'm writing to the experts. Please help.<BR>Rob
  8. I need a strong, outdoor car cover for a 66 Wildcat convertible (in Colorado; lots of sun, snow and wind). Anybody have a recommendation for a vendor with a solid product and a fair price?
  9. Don55,<BR>The production figures I've been quoted say that there were 41 GS made from the 6467 style.<P>So you had a Y2 TR428 car with custom interior? Who knows, maybe this was your car <P>Did anyone get a look at that 66 Wildcat convt that just sold on Ebay for almost $13K. Bench seat with custom interior (Guy sent me a picture of the cowl tag, 6667 with TR458). Sweet car! <A HREF="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=597668353&r=0&t=0&showTutorial=0&ed=1005971662&indexURL=0&rd=1" TARGET=_blank>http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=597668353&r=0&t=0&showTutorial=0&ed=1005971662&indexURL=0&rd=1</A>
  10. Yes, I have the custom interior, which I hear is pretty rare for a 46467 style, but not unheard of.<P>Just to make sure I did not cause any confusion, my car has the 428 code, but has buckets, console, custom interior. <P>Is it possible to have custom interior with a bench? Besides the build sheet, is there anywhere else on the car that would confirm custom interior? I really wish I could find a build sheet<P>
  11. Thanks Roberta! You posted the answer before I posted the question! You psychic?
  12. Thanks for the great responses!<P>I have my application for the BCA right here. It was sent to me by Larry from The Mile High Chapter. May join these guys too.<P>So 428 reflects a black vinyl bench seat? Strange, since I have buckets. Seems a little extreme to me to change out the bench for buckets. Hopefully you still have your book handy, Roberta, but can you tell me what 458 means?<P>Greg, if the carb was built in November of 65, would that be appropriate for a car that was built in May of 66?<P>Thanks again everybody. Hopefully, I'll have a BCA number to add to my profile soon <P>
  13. Can anyone help with some cowl tag ID on a 66 Wildcat? PAINT Y2 and TR 428 are the items that are throwing me.<P>Also, on these cars, did the dash match the color of the rest of the interior? Or was the dash always black?<P>Finally, can anyone tell me the meaning of the numbers on my carb? 7026240 L5 MA were all stamped on a circular section of the carb.<P>Thanks,<BR>Rob
  14. Thanks Jim.<P>Another quick question... maybe I'll just start another string called "Buick 101 for Rob"...<P>Will the aluminum valve covers that came with the Wildcat GS 425 fit on a 401? I've been told that those engines are very similar.<P>Thanks,<BR>Rob
  15. Thanks Centurion. Its all starting to come together.<BR>Rob
