  2. My dad's 1971 Chevy Corvette Stingray. If I can remember it was close to 120 mph until the passenger wanted to slow down.
  3. Dad would take us out to a farm road in a '65 Mustang. He would get out with his bottle of Booze and sit on the side of the road and then he let us have at it.

  5. Brain, I have a curious mind. Always like to learn. I wish a had V-8 GTO in my garage with the Packard. But aleast I have a Classic Car to work on. If it were not for my father leaving me the Packard (he passed away at young age of 54) I would not have such a car.
  6. B.H., I have a 31. So I don't have a 55/56 shop manual. I was just curious on what these lifters look like compared to lets say a 70'S GM lifter. Tom
  7. I cannot get a clear picture of the groove in my head. Would anyone have a pic of the lifter with such groove cut into it?

    Would that puller work on pulling the drums on my '31?
  11. Would there be a crank hole cover for a Packard in that trunk?

  13. Stude8, I lived/grew up in Brookfield IL, for my first 21 years of life. My stepfather owned the Philips 66 gas station on Maple (17th Ave) and 31st. I worked there at one time. I don't recall ever seeing the Marmon Brougham driving around but heck I'm was younger then and into more of the 60-70's muscle cars. When did you see the Marmon Brougham?

  15. Update: Car is up and running. What a difference in power now with new valve springs and valves. Also no more ticking. I do though need to keep an ear open for a knock I hear on acceleration. Tom

    gas tanks

    I had my tank done in ?97 after my father had left the car to me (May he rest in peace). My dad most of used some kind of sealer because when I received the tank back from the shop they showed me some of the stuff that came out of the tank. The process they did was cut three holes in the top so they can sand blast the inside before sealing it. So far (knock on wood) I have not had any problems with the sealer coming loose. Tom

  19. I have couple of used C-4s but they are not in the original box. I also have some new C-16-Cs (I think that is what the number was).
  20. Mapquest says it's 372.86 miles from my home town.
  21. If I would have known that this show was the weekend after the GM Nationals I would have stayed for both shows. Maybe next year? Tom
