  1. Well it is smewhat a new fad here in Subs of Chicago. You can go to K&K now and don't have wait compared to when they first open. Not sure what the big hype was over a hot greasy dognut.
  2. The one by us that opened you had to wait in a long line to get a dognut. But now 2-3 years later there are no lines to get them. Krispy Kreme will just be another fad.
  3. Thanks 1937hd45. It is amazing what you find and see out there. There is a Hamlet Motor Pool (junk yard) I think that is the name of it that has some old cars. Always meant to stop in there to see what is under all that grass and hidden behind the trees. Maybe this spring I will stop by there and take some pictures.
  4. O by the way the handsome gent in the picture is yours truly.
  5. Hello, My in-laws have a second home in Hamlet Indiana. For the past few years we have been going with my wife?s sister after Thanksgiving to get a Christmas tree from a Christmas tree farm named Henslers (spelling) that is only a few miles from their place. The farm in on Route 30. Anyways this year the owner of the farm bought a Ford Stake Bed Truck (See attach Picture which was taken in b&w by my sister-in-law) to add to his ever-growing farm. He has Reindeer a petting zoo etc. Can anyone tell what year this truck is by this picture? I wish I would of taken more pictures of it. One of the widows had 1928 in crayon written on it. I ask the owner but he wasn?t sure of the year. His son gave him the truck I think.
  6. Here is another picture of brothers car.

    Weird noise...

Could it be the exhaust manifold gasket(s)?

  13. Had an antifreeze leak back passenger side. I thought it was the freeze plug under the exhaust manifold but when I pull manifold off I found the last stub bolt was stripped and that is where it was as leaking from there. Had some of that thread repair epoxy, filled hole with it and stuck the stud back into hole. I used one of them 100-watt lamps to keep area warm for a few hours since I have no heat in garage. I left it sit over night before I put it all back together. So far, it has been holding up but now I have an oil leak in the same area but lower down. The last oil leak in that area was the packing nut for the top head oil valve. It looks it may be the rocker cover. I hope that I can just tighten down on the nuts some because in order to do this gasket you need to pull head, valves etc. Moreover, I just put in new stainless steel valves, new valve springs and had the rockers fixed (welded).
  14. I am jealous my new add on was only 14'x22'x8'. My little add on This look from existing garage through a 4' opening I had cut into the back wall.
  15. Well I was doing some work on the car decided it wasn't to bad out. Took it out for a few mile ride around the neighborhood got back home went to hook Tender back up was no where to be found in garage. I must of forgot it laying on the running board. Took the dog (Harley) for a walk and found it about a mile from the house. Got back home hooked it back up to the battery and guess what it still works.

  18. Hi, I have two of the Battery Tenders. One is a 6v for the Packard and the other a 12v I use on the Harley. They must work well because the battery for the Harley I got 6 years of life out of it and I left it installed in the bike over the winter months. The Packard battery I think I bought it back in 97-98 and still cranks the car over pretty well. I always plug the tender into the batteries after ever drive no matter if I take them out the next day. It seems to work well for me.
  19. Well look what I found in my owners manual a paper that talks about how to adjust the generator. See attachment. I received it from a fellow name John S. Thanks John it sure helped me out.
  20. Re-polarize. This may sound dumb but how do you do it?
  21. Thanks for feedback guys. I put the battery on charge while I was out working the Lions Chili Supper from 11:00-4:30. Hooked battery back up it crank a few seconds and started but running rough. Last night I pulled the spark advance to see if that would help but no go. I readjust the distributor and she smoothed out. This morning while I couldn't get it running I was checking other places for water. I pulled the cover off the back of the generator and found this screw that has a gear on it, which I think, turns the brushed. Is this correct? I did turned the screw clockwise and now my amp gauge reads between 8-10 amps where before it was under 0. Could this have been my problem all along that the generator wasn?t charging so I was just running off the battery power?
  22. Advice Please, I took the car out for a ride yesterday and didn't put the goddess radiator cap on it so you know what happen antifreeze blew all over. I got her home turned her off in front of the house so I can wash off the antifreeze. Well wouldn?t you know it she wouldn?t start? Took cap off distributor to see if wet inside. No signs of water inside of cap. It?s getting gas I can see it coming out of the carburetor. Battery? It cranks but not really fast. Could it be the battery is tired and not giving enough crank to get gas sucked up into the cylinders and spark for the ignition? Before this stupid mistake the car would start with no problems but if I would turn it off after going for a ride and then try to restart it would crank slowly and eventually start.
  23. Earl, I just added signature. You need to go to My Home at the bottom you will see Personal Info etc. Click edit and you will see a box to add your signature. O by the way my first Car was a 1976 Pontiac Gran Prix with a 350 which I swap out with a 400.
