  6. Back in the early 70, Pep boys and the like had a product called muffler magic. I use on 67 Mustang more than once to avoid change the exhaust gaskets. My Mustang had standard heads with an rectangular vertical exhaust port, but the cobrajet headers were square,. It was real easy to develop an exhaust leak, but a hand full of muffler majic puddy would do the trick between tear downs. PS it need to be applies hot and was pain and burn the fingers project.

    24.Volt Experiment

One of the Packard Clubs sell a battery box that hold the six volt Optima and looks orginal. Not cheap, but we do have packards after all. If you don't mind the messing around, you could probably make your own, if you could get a case from Battery shop, then make a plastic top from Tap Plastics and paint if black. Better yet made fins a black plastic. You could case a top to real authenic looking with a little work pour resin. You could get as fancy as you want on the top.

    Overheating

Check your lower raditor hose, sometimes if there soft, they collapse and restrict the water flow. Remeber some of the older cars has wire coiled inside the raditor hoses. Joe.

    Packard Keys

I think all you need to do is get a set of new tumblers and then stick the key in and grind the excess off the outside. and you now have lock rekeyed to match the existing keys. there a guy on ebay who always selling nos 40 glove compartment locks. You might check it out if the tumbler assemblies are interchanable. Joe
