rust free 53 skylark, reef blue, owned it for about 8 years. runs and drives fine. 60K orig miles. all original, but it was repainted (same color) before i got it. getting a new top at the moment. i figure it's worth $45k-ish. i want to trade it for an equal value/quality 41-49 buick woody. no rotten woodies need apply. not for sale, or trade for anything other than stated. car is in seattle, wa. thanks, john walker
i still need a good, rust-free header bow, restorable rear seat cushions, and the upper, pot-metal door handle clamps, which are captive on an L shaped bracket inside the door, convertible only, cad, buick, olds(88,98). 206.789.6800
i have a lot of 49 trim items and some mechanical. condition varies, but i didn't save any bad stuff. i'm restoring a 49 roady convert, so all my super and 4dr related stuff is available at fair, but not giveaway prices.
well, i'm halfway there. i have the ionia plate. i think i'm going to cast a handle (i have two poor ones for the pattern), and forget about the keyhole until i find an original unit. i have a 49 and a 48 woodie, so i need 3 good ones. oh boy.
it's in wenatchee, wa. i've talked to the guy because i have one, and it's pretty complete with floor rot. a total project. he's asking 13K. 509.884.3912
[ 09-29-2001: Message edited by: john walker's workshop ]
is there a factory manual that details the complete installation of the convertible top skin and pads? anyone want to sell one? still need rust free front header bow, 49 cad, buick or olds 98.
i'm going to the pomona swap meet this weekend and would like to hit as many old buick parts places as possible on the way from the airport. are there any within reasonable driving distance?
yeah, relatively speaking, i've had them on the car for 2 years and less than 5000 miles, being it's a skylark and i don't drive it every day. but so far so good. i'm running bias ply 4' whites with tubes.
[ 08-21-2001: Message edited by: john walker's workshop ]
i did try those guys for a 49 chev floor a while back and found the quality to be lacking. i could have bent up a panel like theirs in 20 minutes. hard to pay $190 for something like that. i would rather have the fit and appearance of the original piece in spite of the extra labor.
