A friend is trying to find the value of a 1950 Lincoln Cosmopolitan. It has 30,000 original miles. The original paint is black. The interior is gray. Does anyone have an idea as to the value of a very good original?

Parts Cross Reference Info (XREF) (updated 10/29/09)
Randy Berger replied to Peter Gariepy's topic in Packard
Do the Packard parts XREFs no longer exist? When I select any one of the three it puts me back at the beginning of the forums. -
She will be sorely missed. She was a good spokesperson and a highly intelligent lady.

Thanks very much for thinking of me - it is appreciated. What I really need are a few more gray cells and the ability to use them.

Shhh! I've been sleeping on this creeper till you disturbed my slumber.

Joe and Mark, thank you both for your input. It is appreciated.

I have searched high and low, but have not been able to find a supplier of Douglas connectors. These are bullet-like male-female connectors with the female part contained in a plastic sleeve. 55-56 Packards use them a good bit and apparently Douglas aircraft developed them. Military jeeps use them but they have a heavy rubber cover. Does anyone know of a supplier? Thanks in advance.

Although I have dealt with this ebay vendor several times and he is a very honest person, I question whether this is a 374 cu inch engine. Did someone paint it the turquoise themselves? Factory error?? I initially looked at it to see the position of the generator adjusting arm - the slot is on the water manifold bolt as it should be. Has anyone else ever seen a turquoise 374?? Note that firewall is same color. Perhaps the engine compartment including engine was painted?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1956-Pack...120998015QQrdZ1

Any good programmer can determine how to fix something, even if it's something they are not familiar with Congratulations, both on the repair and having the foresight to pick up the needed part.

HH56, I like your setup better than mine. I used a muffler clamp on the steering column and attached an L-shaped bracket to that so the switch assumed proper position. There is no reason that it wouldn't work on a 55 brake pedal.
