  2. hi

how can I tell if the 71 chevelle I am looking at is a malibu?

Seller says it is and thinks the malibu tags were not reinstalled on the car.

Where are the malibu tags located?

Also is there a trim data plate and if so where is it located.

VIn # off door is 136371R135058

I have decoded it and it says chevelle.

thanks for any help. I have attached 2 pix.

Since I dont come to the forum often, would you please use your email server and email me directly at http://www.retrocarads.com

I thankyou for your time and help.

Why not look for a build sheet either under the back seat or in the door panel, this will tell you what you have?

  3. I have for sale a 1920's Eveready Mazda Automobile Lamp Kit in decent condition with 2 original bulbs inside. Marked on the back" Refill with Eveready Mazda Automobile Lamps". There are 2 headlight 6-8v original bulbs inside 1 appears to be bad. This is the 2nd one I have posted for sale. In my opinion this is not in as good as condition as the other one I sold, so I will price it for less. Great item to put in tool box or side door pocket for the car show judges. Pear shape headlight bulbs with ridges on top! $20.00 plus shipping takes it -continental U.S. only. Email ronvanblarcom@yahoo.com

    if interested. ronvb- see pics--

  4. <dt>Hello all,

I have this Chevrolet Bowtie Ashtray/pipe/cigarette/cigar tray made of some hardened plastic-maybe bakelite, and it is dated April 6, 1948.On the back the manufacturer name is molded in and reads: LANCE MFG CO.PHILA.40 PA.

The part that baffles me is that it reads on the front Souvenir 23 April 6,1948? So does anyone have an idea what this is a souvenir of and what the number 23 is significant of?

All responses/ideas are welcome. Thanks in advance--

  5. John,

Others said it may be a 23 year salesman award for someone that started in 1925 with the dealership or assembly plant? One thing for sure 1948 was indeed an iconic year for Chevy when they out sold Ford that year making a comeback after the war. The bowtie symbol has its history as well.

I know one of you car buffs will know exactly what it is just from experience.
