  1. 97 Chevy full size PU. Cruise control does not engage. Everything else checks out OK. Replaced brake light switch. Did not help. The following code is set periodically. P0719 (Torque Converter/Brake Switch B Circuit Low. I cancel the code and it sets again about 200 miles later. Can any one tell me where/what this code means - "Brake Switch B Circuit Low". I do not have a wiring diagram - where is this "Brake Switch B Circuit"? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. J M Hellman Lubbock, TX
  2. 90 Reatta, daily driver, 81K miles. Saw smoke comming out of the steering column and then the IPC went blank. Pulled steering wheel and turn signal switch - did not see any burnt wires anywhere Everything on the steering column functions ok. When I try to enter the "Diagnostics" nothing happens - the IPC will not light up? Only lights on the IPC is the air bag light and the brake lights (red & yellow). Any suggestions? Should I pull the IPC and look for some burnt/shorted wires or what?? Thanks for any heplp/suggestions you can offer. J.M. Hellman Lubbock Texas
  3. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Any recommendations on a GPS that I can use in my Reatta? Source? Cost? Hertz uses Magellan 750M in some of their rent cars. It worked great but I think those are about $1650! Any suggestions? Thanks. J. M. 6. What size transmission oil cooler do you suggest for a Reatta? Use it as a daily driver in Texas (90 coupe). Did you bypass the radiator as I think Barney suggested and not let the radiator reheat the transmission oil? <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> J. M. 9. I have a 90 and it has continuous stripes. I am pretty sure the paint is original - if it isn't somebody did a very good paint job on it. I was told that the paint was original. The stripes are the only thing that does not look factory. BTW - my car came from Oklahoma?? <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" /> J. M. Hellman Lubbock TX

How should I get it to slide up/off the shift lever? Thanks for any advice you can give me. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> J.M. Hellman
  12. Howard, What type of problem were you having with your PWs? I have a 90 and both of the windows are very sloooow!! <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> Is that the motors or the switches? <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> Thanks. 13. I have had that same problem on my 90. I finally realized that the rubber washer did not come out of the radiator with the petcock. Just take a small screwdriver and go up into the radiator and pull the flat rubber washer out and put it on the petcock and it will screw in easily. J. M. 15. Are the seats in Reattas leather? I was told that they are not Comparing to other vehicles with leather seats I tend to agree that they are not leather but?? ... vinyl? J. M. Hellman Lubbock, TX
  16. Randy, This AM my 90 coupe did the same as yours. Brake lights stayed on but upper mount light was off This has happened a few times in the last year. I pumped the brake pedal a few times (like doing the brake test) and jiggle/kick/shake the brake pedal and after about a minute of this frustrating prodedures the brake lights go out! If it was the brake light switch that is bad or out of adjustment why does the upper mount brake light work correctly and the brake/tail lights not?? Barney said my coupe was "possessed"!! Guess he was correct! J. M. Hellman Lubbock, TX
  17. Looks like I forgot to login for this post. J. M. Hellman
  18. 90 coupe. Had the drivers side door open and pushed down on the manual door lock slide lever/knob. Now the only way to unlock the door is with the key. The electric locks will lock it but not unlock it. Moving out of Park will lock it but putting in Park will not unlock it. The manual slide lever/knob will lock it but when I pull up on it it will not unlock. What did I break and/or screw up?? The passenger door works fine. Thanks for any advice you can give me. J M Hellman Lubbock TX
  19. Still need help! Problem is not the battery! It checked out ok! Any way to check the remote transmitter to determine if problem is in the remote or in the car? Any suggestionsd or advice? Thanks. J. M. Hellman Lubbock, TX
  20. 90 coupe. Anyway to determine if the remote control or something else(fuse/ relay?)is the problem when it will not open the door locks or the trunk lid. Door locks and trunk work when pushed manually. Can the remote get "unprogrammed" mysteriously? I changed remote control battery. Or is it time for another remote? Thanks for any suggestions. J M Hellman Lubbock, TX
  21. What is this code. I can not find it in the manual. 90 coupe.<BR>Thanks.<P>J. M. Hellman<BR>Lubbock, TX
  22. Barney,<BR>Thanks for the info on the low side connection.<BR>BUT - <BR>The smaller line which is the high side has 2 connectors on it in the location you describe on the forum. The larger connector (I assume it is the high side port) is closer to the front of the vehicle and the smaller connector is on the same line about 10 inches toward the firewall exactly where you said the low side port would be but the connector is on the high pressure line. <BR>The low pressure line (larger line) runs parallel with the high pressure line but has no connectors or ports?<P>I can not understand why there are 2 ports on the same line (high pressure) with in 10 inches of each other? <P>Still have no access to the low pressure side.<P>Any suggestions? <P>Back to the dealer?<BR> <BR>J M Hellman
  23. EDBSO,<BR>Thanks Robert, <BR>Yes the accumulator/dryer is on the passenger side front fender, but the lines going from it to the compessor appear to be nonassessible w/o removing some metal!! <BR>Surely GM in their infinite wisdom would locate the low side service port where it was assessible!! The high side port is on top and is easily assessible!<BR>There must be way to access the low side w/o tearing the front end apart!! I hope!! <P>J Hellman
  24. I have a 98 Aurora and cannot find the low side fitting to check the AC R134 A gas. <BR>The compressor is making a rattling sound and it is not cooling as well as it should.<P>The high side fitting is easy to get to but the low side line does not have a visible fitting and there is not one on the accumulator/dryer? <P>Any help/suggestions will be appreciated.<BR>Thanks. <BR> <BR>J Hellman<BR>Lubbock TX <P>
