  1. Interesting. I wonder if the 4 pin bulbs are still available. I guess I'll have to pull it apart to see. While I do live in the Great Northwet, my car is a garage queen but I guess corrosion is still possible. Thanks.
  2. Does the convertible use the same bulb? One of my lights are out.
  3. I don't know where you are located but I have a friend who may have some '65 front fenders but shipping would probably be expensive. He is located in the Kent (near Seattle) WA area. Let me know and I'll PM you his contact info.
  4. No Wayne, they don't. The '64 front bumper came up higher on the side of the fender. Also the '64 fender will not attach to a '65 core support. The side trim on a '64 also has holes that go the length of the fender, the '65 stops at the wheel arch. That said, you can put a '64 complete nose (fenders, core support, grille, and bumper) on a '65 if you swap out the core support and radiator to the '64. The hood is the same except for the ornament. The '64 radiator is a downflow while sometime in '65 Buick switched to a larger crossflow radiator. The body lines will match but you will have some bodywork to make the side trim match up. Greg
  5. Daniel, are you back on this side of the big puddle? I would have loved to have seen your SC Reatta too!
  6. This was held yesterday under a bright sunny sky and a cooling breeze. 113 Buicks were in attendance. They ranged from 1908-the late 90's Rivieras. Our local chapter of the BCA with the help and cooperation of other local chapters does an excellent job putting on this annual show for 23 years now. This year the Reatta attendance slipped a little to only 4 cars at the event. They were all '90s, 2 coupes and 2 convertibles. The coupes were both red, one with a tan interior and the other with a gray interior. My white and red interior convertible was there as well as a Maui Blue convertible. As my car won a Gold award last year at the Portland National, I showed it as display only this year. I have several pictures but I have to transfer them over from my cell phone so I'll post them up later.
  7. Go to the dot to the left of the thread title. That says "First unread"
  8. I suspect one of the new components you replaced is defective. A defective rebuilt alternator is not uncommon. I'd take it back to where you bought it and have it tested. I haven't heard of a new battery not able to hold a charge but I assume it could happen. Your issue is puzzling as it happens while driving which means that as you drive the charging system isn't charging correctly. That generally isn't a short, it means something in the charging system isn't working right.
  9. If you want new, I'm sure they are being repopped. They come with the dash wiring kit. OPGI, or any of the repop guys could get it for you. I bought one for my '65 Skylark years ago. Seem to remember it was a couple hundred for it back then. Probably close to double that now. If you are a BCA member, there are lots of advertisers in the Bugle.
  10. So that's why they call your part of the world, "Down Under"! LOL
  11. When checking pricing on Craigslist you have to realize that those are asking prices. There is an overpriced Reatta on the Seattle CL that has been listed for 3 years that I know of that has never sold. It too needs a lot of work. At $2500 it is probably $1500-$2000 above its value.
  12. What Walter said. I have personally verified this interaction.
  13. Is your high neam switch activated?
  14. Be careful when you pop the trunk with the tonneau open. The reason why you can't open both electrically at the same time is because they will bang into each other causIng damage.

    What a mess

At the National in Portland last year it poured buckets all the way there from Seattle. I had spent the previous week polishing and detailing everything before the trip. My car was filthy when I arrived. The next day I ran it through Tech while waiting for a spot at the wash station. Guess when they took my picture? After cleaning all the filth off and detailing it that night we went on the Rendezvous where it rained again. Of course judging was the next day so back in line at the wash station. Finally the weather broke and became a glorious Northwest day. On the plus side I did take home a Gold so it was all worth it except when the Bugle came out and there was the picture of my filthy car with the top up. Oh well.
  16. That seller is a friend of mine. I can personally vouch for his integrity and honesty.
  17. Sorry I misread that one I thought you were talking about the outside Keyhole ight
  18. I'm sure you know that the 4th bow ( above rear window) is adjustable which could help with the tightness problem. Thought I should mention it anyway.
  19. I just opened my current issue of the Bugle and noticed that there were no candidates west of the big river. I think there should be better representation across the whole country. I wonder why no one is running from this side of the USA? How many current board members represent the west side folks?
  20. I didn't know Mary Kay was around back in '65?
  21. My first thought is grounded out points, possibly through the condenser. Just elaborating on what others suggested.
  22. In '67 the small block V8 choices were either a 300 2 barrel or a 340 with a 4 barrel. I am not sure if they made a 340 2 barrel but I know there was no 300 4 barrel in '67. So the answer to your question is no.
  23. Mine was caused by a loose negative ground strap at the battery. It got worse to the point where the headlights would dim when the brakes were applied. New connector at the battery cable & a new battery solved it.
