  1. I was wondering if anyone can help me with a '48 Olds electrical problem. I do not have the service literature on this auto but I do have an electrical diagram. It does not appear to be correct however. I am particularly concerned with the starter circuit. My starter solenoid has two smaller wires going to the solenoid. The drawing only shows one. On the large post the drawing shows the battery terminal and two smaller wires. I have these two smaller wires which are connected together on one terminal so that is correct. But on my diagram only one other terminal is shown and I have two. Also on
  2. I am trying to resurrect a '48 Olds that I purchased out of a junkyard. I would really like to correspond with some '48 owners. I do not have a service manual so would like to ask someone to perhaps send me a wiring diagram which I need badly. also need three outside door handles. There is only one good one on the car and that is the right rear. Lee

  4. Hmmm here's what this Olds chassis parts book says which differs from your AC data. They call out the following: 1937 thru 1940 (all) type 45 1941 thru 1942 (all) type 44 1946 thru 1948 (all) type 48 A type 45 would be a hotter plug than a #44. But would a #48 be four steps hotter? That seems like quite a jump! They also had an AC 46 plug. Not sure if there was a #47 since I do not have an AC spark plug catalog. Sure gets confusing doesn't it? Lee
  5. Does anyone have any literature or know where to find it on the Internet for spark plug listings on older cars. I am not interested in crossing over to a resistance type plug. I have a 1948 Olds Futuramatic which had AC C44's installed. I had a person who deals in spark plugs state that AC calls for a 45 which is a hotter plug I guess. But one piece of literature I have an Olds parts book states that it should have a #48 installed in the 1948. Which is true??? Is the #48 still a hotter plug than the #45? Interested in any literature I can find on these older plugs. Lee
  6. Does anyone know if there are any free Buick Riviera Service manual downloads for the 1972 or 1973 Riviera on the Internet? I have searched but as yet have not had any luck. I am particularly interested in the procedure for adjusting the doors. Lee
  7. Does anyone have a '57 chassis frame that they would like to part with? Have a '57 with a severely bent front end frame. It would be nice to be able to save this auto. I live in the Northwest. Lee
  8. Does anyone out there have any knowledge regarding the factory installed sunroof used on the '73 Riviera? The Sunroof was not made by Buick but made by another company that has been out of business for a number of years. I have the literature on the sunroof I believe, however have a particular question to ask. Desperate to get information so that I can get this thing buttoned up again. Lee
  9. I have a noisy speedometer. I have the front dash off and still cannot figure out how to get it out. Can anyone give me any further assistance? Are removal instructions in the body manual or what. They are not in the regular repair manual.
  10. Don't have an '88 Repair Manual. I have an '87 Manual however it does not cover the compass. Mine was not working properly. Got one out of a wrecking yard and it works exactly the same way. I noticed there seems to be some calibration pushbuttons. My son suggested there may be a calibration procedure where you have to drive the car around in a circle, etc.. Does anyone have an '88 manual that gives info on the compass? Anyone want to sell their manual? Anyone need a '87 manual?
  11. Does anyone have a V24 #10 they would wish to part with? Give price. Email me @ auto.nut@gte.net
  12. Buick is either a model 47 or 27 depending on the wheelbase. They are 120" & 114 3/8" respectively.
  13. Need the two front door panels with good plastic woodgrain.

  15. Sure wish I was closer. I have a 26-50. It is mostly all there however the wood is all gone and I would need patterns to restore it.<BR>Leenull
