  3. Sorry, I have been sending people to that sight with success for a while. I don't know why it failed. I even checked that link before I posted it. Try this one http://new.photos.yahoo.com/karlde/albums Thanks, Karl
  4. If you are talking about the plastic clips that hold the side trim on, I haven't found those anywhere. I reused my old ones with no problem. If it is the ones on the ends that have a nut on the back, OPGI has them. Good Luck
  5. Thanks for the info. I will do some checking and let you know what I find.
  6. Shifty, I eliminated my 4GC by installing the (new at that time) Edelbrock 500 CFM with electric choke. That solved all the starting, idling and accelerating problems. Good Luck.
  7. When my engine was rebuilt, we installed a 190 degree thermostat. The engine runs at 190 usually, but this afternoon (102 in Dallas) it went to 210 and then to 220. My concern is for the aluminum heads. Will this temp hurt them? Would a 160 degree thermostat be a better choice? Thanks,

  10. I used a company in Dallas, DAL Chrome. Bumpers is all they work on. They straighted and chromed my front bumper and chromed the rear. $454.65 including tax. I was pleased with the results. DAL Chrome 3044 Morrell Ave Dallas, TX 75203 214 942-3321 or 213 942-8444
  11. Keith, Many thanks for your reply. I took the seat sides and the arm that holds the rearview interior mirror to the only chrome site I could find local. Advanced Chrome in Fort Worth has done a little work for me before. He took one look at the arm for the rearview and said it was pot metal and couldn't do it. Then he looked at the seat sides and said they could strip them down but where the pits were would probably be holes that would have to be fixed. And, for $60 per piece they would strip them down and see what came out. Needless to say, I brought them back home. I'll see if I can fin
  12. There is a metal strip on the side of the bucket seats that hides the upholstry seam and covers the metal hinge at the bottom. There is one on each side of each bucket seat. The ones on my 64 Skylark are pitted, that is, there are raised rust spots on them. Is that what is called pitting? I would like to get them rechromed. Should I just take them to the shop as they are or should I try to sand them down smooth before I take them in? Thanks for your advice.

  14. Just in retrospect, I helped my dad restore a 1920 Model T Ford and he had a trailer built from scratch out of angle iron. I don't know what the trailer weighed but it was surely more than the Ford. We pulled it all over Ohio with a '55 Buick Special. No prolem. The good ole days. Karl
