  1. Craig , The battery is located under the rear seat on the passenger side and is vented through the floor. This was used on the 2000 Lesabre and first used by buick on the 95 Riviera because of space under the hood. Bill
  2. Rich, Its been many years since I owned a str. 8 but they do get sludge built up in the block and head after many years of operation. Use a strong engine flush and follow directions. Remove the side drain plug and try running a stiff wire to insure there is no build up. When I did a valve job, I was able to use a wire in the head along the intake side and also vertical in the block around the rear cylenders. Good luck, its getting hot out there!! Bill

  19. The first model to have the supercharger was the 92 ultra {park Ave]with the first series 3800. I think it was 175hp std and 220 with the supercharger. Just think of a Reatta with this setup. Buick missed the boat on this one even though they tested a turbocharged reatta, both front wheel and rear wheel drive models. ,.Bill
  20. My son bought a 70 gs stage -1 hdtp at the age of 15. I told him that it is the same as someone handing you a gun. You must respect what you have and use it correctly. He still owns the gs at age 30 and will never part with it (#'s match, correct carb, distr,3.64 rear,wg's etc.).He drives an 84 regal( orig diesel) with a 70 350 sp motor and races a 70 white gs with gsx emblems, 3500 lbs, best quarter mile time is 10.18 @ 134 mph.I would say BUY the GN and enjoy it!

  23. Buick did produce a 1974 apollo "GSX" , side stripes , decal "GSX" on front ,sides and rear panel. This option was appearence only with a 350 buick V-8. Production was very low and a choice of several colors .
  24. I don't think there were any factory stage 2 cars except the 70 yellow X that was in the G M training center in cal. All parts were over the counter from 68 to 72(?). i just bought a 69 stage 1 with all over the counter stage 2 parts from holley carb ,unmarked b4b,cast iron heads, slip together headers and 478 10 bolt posi. the engine is stamped 430,but the trans is a numbers match "BB", so the car was a stage 1. if any one has more info on the factory stage 2 parts , i would also like to find this info.
