  1. Page 5, 1956 Product school booklet. 55 had a steel cam. !956has a CAST cam. Buick states that lifters are not compatible when interchanged. The 56 engine calls for a sintered-iron distributor gear for the same reason.
  2. I have one for sale,in fact I have another near-new plus LOTS of other 55 Dynaflow parts.
  3. The 56 Product School booklet tells the changes between 56 and earlier 322 lifters. Study it carefully
  4. I worked in a Buick dealership when these were near-new. Check the frame at the rear . Th first39's had the frame end at the coil springs. I would not pull anything with these unless it had the heavy reinforcements in it. If you have a 39 "Full-frame" car. treat it like a normal car.pull anything you would with any other car it's size.
  5. I have a good used screen. Use Dexron fluid.
  6. Do you live nearVoerendal? I was there Christmas 1944.
  7. I think that in 1948,Roadmaster was the only series that used Dynaflow. A manual will clarify this.
  8. The Buick club here in Omaha meets every Thursday at 8 AM for coffee "Hi Vee" 90th& Center. We could get you the parts, and would like to meet you!
  9. They used to tell about the guy who put two on his car.....he had to stop from time to time to siphon off the surplus gas to keep the tank from overflowing.
  10. The rocker cover and side covers were japanned, then painted over wifh color. The engine colors came off more readily than the japanning,so many much-used straight eights were thought to have been black. My first job at a Buick dealership (that was 1940),was to steam-clean engines.I learned quickly to use solvent on dirty engines, then to LIGHTLY steam them.
  11. Buick Factory-rebuilt units were [painted blue.
  12. I had a 42. They were FINE!
  13. Arvin,Hadees(sp?)and Tropic-Air hot water heaters were popular add-ons,late twenties and early thirties.By the mid thirties ,major American cars had their own units. I picked an after-market one up at Hershey a few years ago.
  14. This calls for a Delco 1948 A i have one, don't know if it is rebuilt or NOS(from a Buick dealer)
  15. What car do you have? I went to my competitor recently, and wanting to start an argument I told him"They never made a GOOD three brush generator" He agreed, much to my surprise. The previous gentleman had good advice if you are locked in on generator location and design. If you have a belt drive unit.we replace them with 40 up two brush units and a Delco 201 or 301 regulator
  16. As i recall, the ring gear is attached to the convertor. If so, I could come up with one>
  17. Full-flow,GOOD, Anyting else ?
  18. I have a rear hub for a 23 Buick Sport Roadster,The hub seems OK,it even has Buick script on the cap. i The center portion of the wheel seems fine, but the rim is terrible. I also have the wheel wrench.
  19. Radials work PERFECT on my 41 with NO changes.
  20. HAVE SEVERAL COMPRESSORS(ONE 59)ALSO HAVE A PONTIAC UNIT(SAME AS bUICK) WITH OIL RESERVOIR SET UP FOR SHOP USE. ANY RESONABLE OFFER.
