  1. I like the way the firewall cleaned up with the new air conditioning system.... very clean, very nice. In keeping with that No Decal would seem way to go or maybe, consider the Super Wildcat smaller slimmer decal keeps the engine compartment from getting too busy. . My 2 cents. Paul
  2. Thanks, I knew it wasn't going to be an piece of cake ... when I get back to my car I will try to do mine and keep you posted. Paul
  3. How simple or difficult should it be to install OE Stainless door edge guard (trim) on a 1965 Riviera. seems like it twists and cannot get it started) lubricant? mallet to tap in? 4 hands? Please advise. Paul
  4. This mechanics does full frame off restorations ... mostly GMs, some Buicks. He is very diligent. At this point the speed-0 does not register the speed, the barrel appears to not be stuck or frozen. First I will have him check the cable, check the gear and turn it manually to see if there is movement ... before we decide to R/R. as you stated the speed-0 may be Ok, just anticipating what it may be. Paul
  5. Thank you JRIV, I have an electrical mechanic that looked puzzled when I asked that he remove and replace the speedometer, and I had no info to offer as a guide. Thanks to you, I will now show him this so he can get an idea of what is entailed. Thank you again, Paul
  6. Does anyone have information on how to remove and replace the speedometer on my 1966 Riviera. I have another working unit that I want to exchange but do not know which is the easiest way to remove the old one and install the replacement one. Thanks in advance for any information. Is there an article in the Review that I may locate? Paul
  7. You have not provided much information ... does not look like a legitimate posting ... has anyone tried the phone number, with what results?
  8. I like the black inserts over the original (non-painted) look. Thanks for keeping us posted, I have wondered about my '65 Gran Sport with 17" and wider tires but I always end up with the Factory Rally Wheels. Paul
  9. That would be my recommendation, locate it yourself prior to your appointment, cause they will go through the motions for about 15 minutes before they say that the numbers are not there (where they are supposed to be) and give up the search. Leaving you on your own. Paul
  10. My cousin was with the California Hiway Patrol and was assigned to the Department of Motor Vehicles of which he worked in 5 different locations (one location per day for appointments) they have a book that list where the VIN numbers are located other than the public VIN. He looked for the VIN on one of my cars and due to age, rust, corrosion had a difficult time in locating it .....He stated: " The GM employee depending on mood, day of the week or other variables, would stamp where-ever he wanted to as long as it was in the general area sometimes as far as 30" from where they were supposed to be. Good luck in locating it. Paul
  11. I wouldn't send him a nickel. Have him email/photo you HIS DRIVERS LICENSE that shows the same address he wants the funds sent to. Contact the postings on ROA there has to be a grille from the many vendors and members. Good Luck Paul
  12. Go on ebay "completed sales" You can see what they sold for, and what was bid. Good luck not only better than your 401k but you can enjoy them as well.
  13. ABSOLUTELY A WASTE OF A DUAL 4-BARREL SET UP ... love the placement of the GranSport Emblem in the rear. Whoever did this to a Riviera should not be allowed near a buick, he should own a bicycle.
  14. Thanks for clearing that up for me ... I thought that he had taken a picture of another Riv (didn't notice the missing top strip)and his was missing the rocker molding. Thanks Paul
  15. This is part of the lower ribbed rocker moldings. Contact Tim al elco1979@yahoo.com I purchased the two long pieces at the bottom. Takes 4 per side for a set. Good luck Paul
  16. Thanks to DV8 and everyone that contributed to this post ... I just ordered the set of hoses for my car ..... I may be asking for help if I run into trouble. Thanks again, Paul
  17. thanks for the information ... and I have left messages with the vendors.

  20. Good Info, .. Clarks Corvairs is very interested as they are out of 64 and 65 fawn CLOTH #613 , VINYL IS AVAILABLE AS YOU STATED
  21. Thanks Tom, I agree completely with all of your comments. We do have a couple of local shops that we are looking into, SMS is slow and my upholsterer is not to eager to deal with them,. Thanks again for your response. It is getting tougher and more expensive to restore these Rivieras every day. Paul
  22. 1965 Riviera trim code 613: Fawn Beaumonde Fabric and Vinyl Material I need to purchase the Cloth and Vinyl material to have my upholsterer make my interior. I would be interested in purchasing a ready made set ... Clarks Corvair is on backorder of the material since Feb 2014 and not sure if or when it will become available again. Please contact via this post, PM, email 65skyriv19@att.net, text or phone 559 355-3551 I appreciate all responses.
  23. VERDE GREEN is beautiful on the rivieras ........ my two cents.
  24. Love it ... Love it ... Love it, 1965 Riviera is what its all about ............ great presentation. Thanks for posting Paul
  25. Nice car, decent price. It would be hard to build. Someone can buy this one and start driving and showing. It has to be worth something to not have to crawl under the car and through to fix items after 50+ years .... This will sell and probably very close to the asking price if not the asking price. Paul
