Congratulations Dave That is a good looking Buick. Let me know if you have any questions, I am getting close to finishing my 53 Skylark. Now I know these cars like the back of my hand. Steve

Thank you for the replies. It was driving me crazy to know what these fit. Glad to know what they are, so these were probably installed on a 70's Ford Maverick, hence the note on the glass. Thanks Everyone.

I have a pair of these vent window wings and I am not sure what they fit. The glass is curved LOF tinted glass. They are marked Maverick 2 dr, but I don’t think these are for a Ford Maverick. any ideas? thanks

Hi I will look through my headlight buckets and see if they have the brackets. I'll look this weekend. Thanks Steve

My 58’ Century Caballero Estate Wagon Build
FireballV8 replied to jackofalltrades70's topic in Me and My Buick
Hi Matt Great work on the wagon. Where did you buy the pin/ball dolly set? Those are very helpful. Thanks -
I like reading your progress, it really motivated me to work on my Buicks. How hard is it to do the stitching as you show above? I bought a professional auto trim sewing machine, but haven't used it yet. I just wonder if I should even try. Your work above looks great. Steve

Carolina Limiteds: Living the Dream - 1958 Buick Limited Conv.
FireballV8 replied to 38Buick 80C's topic in Me and My Buick
There is probably close to a 100 of them in Sweden, probably more there than anywhere else in the world. I have been collecting pictures of 58 Limited convertibles and have close to 40 different ones. I often wonder what happened to the ones that were around the BCA in the 80's & 90's, I am sure they survived, but where are they? These numbers are also quoted often for the 53 & 54 Skylarks, but there are always a few for sale at any given time. I bet there are a lot less 54 or 55 Century Convertibles left compared to the Skylarks. Anyhow, Buicks are the best cars to collect and restore. Steve -

Congratulations Brian. These are very neat cars. The pictures look very nice on the lawn. Steve -
Usually the end you are showing goes to the flare fitting on the steel line, then the other end of the hose with the male thread would go to the fuel pump or use a 45 or 90 degree angle fitting at the fuel pump. What does the other end of the hose look like?

Hi Everyone This was in error, I was listing the Dodge W100 brake shoes from my phone and double posted. Can it be deleted? I tried but don't see that I am able to do so. Sorry for the error.

Help I.D. the year of this hood ornament? Late model
FireballV8 replied to Pete Phillips's topic in Buick - Post War
Hi Pete It looks like a 1985 Century Hood Ornament. The late 1970's and early 80's had the deer head and the coat of arms on the tri shields. Please let me know how much you would want for it, I don't have one of those in my tri shield display collection. Thanks Steve -
Thanks Bob These gears are very long over an inch, the others I have seen are about 1/2" in length, so both the number and length are an issue. Steve
-
Hi Everyone I want to thank everyone for the tips. The issue is still not resolved, but it has been determined to be an issue with the Bendix gear getting stuck on the flywheel, which still activates the solenoid since the Bendix gear will not go back to disconnect the solenoid. I am now trying to figure out the right Bendix gear for the 58 Buick. Does anyone know how many teeth are on 58 Bendix gear? Thank You Steve
-
Thanks Bob I had read the section about the relay, but did not see paragraph 10-9, I will try to items mentioned in that paragraph. Thank You
-
Hi Bernie That post is someone else for a 53 Buick. You are correct the starters are different. Mine looks like the one in your diagram. Thank You
-
Thanks Bernie The picture really helps, I bought another solenoid to try and had the same results with both.
