6. HI,
Everyone wants to make a great deal buying old cars.
What was your best deal?
I heard of a 1946 Ford for sale, so I had a buddy run me out to see it.
It was setting in the driveway of an old feed shed, the old fellow said he'd take $45.00 for it, well I paid him, he signed the title and I drove off with it.
I also bought a 1957 Chevrolet 4-dr sedan for $25.00.
I guess those would qualify for my best deals price wise.

------------------
MAC
7. HI,
Sorry about the mix up!! HOOD = engine cover

------------------
MAC
8. HI,
Favorite Buick?
My cousin had a 1940 Buick Special,if I remember right it was a four door model,a robins egg blue, with red wheels and whitewall tires.
One night we came out of a drive-in movie anf this kid in a "hotrod Ford" challenged her at the stop light,of course the rod got a sizeable jump on us,but after she let it wind out we passed the Ford like it was sitting still.
This was in the 50's,I'd say around 52/53.
The 40 was her pride and joy,and she kept it up really well.
If I could pick any other Buick than my cousin's 40 Special,it would be a 55 two post
sedan.
I just like the looks of them.

------------------
MAC
9. HI,
What was your first car?
Mine was a 1947 Chevrolet Coupe.
I bought it in 1956, I was a Senior in high school.
It was a tu-toned blue in color, darker fenders, and real chrome to shine.
I headed to our local "WESTERN AUTO" store to get some custom dress up items right away.
You got to have a steering wheel knob, and chrome headlight shields, and a chrome exhaust tip.
I got a set of "PORT-A-WALLS", a fake set of whitewalls.
I'd love to have the old Chevy back.
"think spring"

------------------
MAC
10. HI,
No I'm not trolling for an fight, just for folks ideas on the subject.
I like "HOT-RODS" but I also like alot of the old restored Packards,Buicks from away before my birth in the 30's.
My family almost had Buicks and Packards when I was growing up.
My Grandfather had a 37,41,and a 49 Packards, and a Cousin and an Aunt had Buicks a 40 and a 41.
I would given the choice, "hot-rod" a car to save it from the crusher.
A great many good restorable cars are going to the crusher to make "new American-Far East" cars, and I think thats un-American.

------------------
MAC
14.
