  1. You enlisted in the National Guard what do you suppose its there for? If you don't know you have found out! At least you made your own choice, some of us received Greetings from President Nixon and had to enter and serve without question for 2 years. May you have a safe tour, the cars will be there when you get home! Henry Draftee USARMY Jan '70 Jan '72

  2. I'm trying to establish a value on a '66 ram air cleaner assembly. It is not a numbered unit, and it was used on a fresh water boat for less than two years. This is just the part that sits on top of the carbs, no other parts with it as they didn't need them for the boat installation. Present owner has had it since late '60's. The chrome is dull but not rusty and otherwise in good shape. They do not show up very often so between the two of us we are trying to come up with a fair price. Any knowledgable opinions? What do you think? Thanks, Henry

  3. Oldsmobile's police car package was call "Police Apprehender" The car in the pic is a Cal. Highway Patrol unit based on the '67 Delmont 425 cid with 365 hp, 4 bl carb with single exhaust. The CHP fleet was eqipped with pointless distributor, HD suspension, boxed frame, rear sway bar, 15" wheels, manual steering, front disc brakes, larger rear drums from the 98 Olds, rubber floor covering and other modifications.

The Apprehender Delmonts were offered with any engine from 330cid to the 425cid rated at 375hp. There was also a Apprehender package offered on the "A" body cars. Henry

  4. I don't know your location but if you can get to Austin, Tx I have several '71 and '72 Cutlass Supremes with complete bucket seat console setups still installed in the cars(6 or 7 of them). All in good shape although the seats would need recovering. 350.00 for complete package. This offer is for local pickup only as I do not have time to ship. Henry

  5. Tinted glass and factory air was not tied together, they were seperate items in '66. Only mandatory option included with factory air was the heavy duty cooling system as part of the package(fan clutch/3row radiator). This info is from the Oldsmobile Salesman Album. So much for quoting from books my personal knowledge of my '66 f-85 with only options of factory air, V8 and auto trans, it has clear glass throughout no radio or anything else.

Standard Toro arm rest was shared in many GM cars '65-'67 Cutlass, Deltas 88, Chev Impalas a nd others. Henry

  6. December 1965 Oldsmobile Service Guild training manual, page 104 has the information on the hole drilling locations. Power Window Motor R&R ...procedure applies to all 52 through 86 Series 2-door styles.... Takes a 3/4" hole for access. If you don't have an issue of this(and I cann't imagine you not having one) I can send the listed measurments. Henry

  7. Its been quite a while but I removed door glass from a '66 88 convert with power windows that were in the raised position by using a combination box/open end wrench to remove the nuts holding the glass to the sash. I remember having trouble with a couple of the bolts turning and having to reach through to the back side of glass and holding the bolt heads with visegrips

I also recall seeing in a monthly issue of a Olds Service Guild training manual the locations for drilling access holes. '65-'66-'67 year range????? I'll try to see if I have that issue in my set later this weekend. Henry.

  8. The 66-67 fenders are interchangable.

All the measurments and mounting holes are the same. My brother owns a 67 Skylark with a 66 fender on it and it fits although the trim is completly different. Factory part numbers are not the final word on interchange for there may be a small difference in some part of the construction that causes it to be renumbered but does not disallow its use as to interchanging.

As a further source look at the Mitchell Interchange Domestic Cars, Light Trucks & Vans 1986 Edition Section 13 Sheet Metal You'll find listed under Buick Special (includes Skylark) front fender assembly 66-67....interchange #289. Under #289 front fender Special 66-67 NOTE: Std & Gran Sport differ as to trim.

  9. A good place to look will be 69-72 Pontiac Grand Prixs. I've found many Grand Prixs with power bucket seats. It was common for these cars to be loaded with options and the power seats are the same as Cutlass. Henry
