  1. Canadian Pontiacs used a full size Chevrolet frame and complete drivetrain in the creation of their cars. Henry<P>Search for A Bruneau and you'll find lots of info on Canadian Chevies and Pontiacs.
  2. A chevy powered '59 Olds will have company as even the last couple of years of Oldsmobile RWD cars all had small block chevies! <P>A chevy engine may be the difference between the old Olds being put back on the road or being scrapped!<BR> <BR>I went to Viet Nam a couple of years ago and it was amazing to see creative engine swaps in many American built cars of the '60's and '70's that were left behind. (Plymouth slant 6 in a'67 Chev Biscanye, International 345 in a '65 Chevy PU, Nissan 4 cylinder in mid '60's Falcon and so forth) Henry.
  3. Call Mark Polastry in Webberville, Tx. 512-303-0833. He has several '64's that he's parting out. Henry
  4. Call Mark Polastry at 512-303-0833 in Webberville, Tx. He has a couple of '66 Skylarks that he's parting out. Henry
  5. In your search you might look for '54-'55-'56 Oldsmobile 88's also. Henry.
  6. '62 Starfires were originaly 4bls. It is possible that someone switched it to a 2bl intake/carb for gas milage or had a ruined 4bl carb. Henry.
  7. The seller on eBay only has interior pics....the car may be a serious rust bucket or otherwise damaged body! I hope!<BR>Henry.
  8. Olds 88 front clip would likely have same wheelbase as LeSabres, besides all body lines would be different where the fender and door meets! Take your time and you'll find the right parts. Henry.
  9. Glen is right! The Electra/Wildcat front end is longer, longer fenders and hood! I found this out about 22 years ago the hard and expensive way! I bought the wrong, nonreturnable parts! Henry.
  10. Loren, by '78 the "X" body cars had standardized the use of Chev V-8's, Buick V-6's. The Nova however continued use of the Chev inline 6. Henry
  11. LeSabre fenders are shorter! Front clip is longer on a Wildcat/Electra series. Henry
  12. '67 LeSabre fenders are not interchangable with the '67 Electra/Wildcat fenders. Henry
  13. No, it will not fit! It's shaped different because of the grilles. '71-'72 are the same. Henry
  14. Chris They will fit '69 to '72 GM "A" body!<BR>'68 is different in that the ignition swich is on the dash. Also '69 to '72 Pontiac Grand Prix and '70 to '72 Chev Monte Carlo and '69 Beaumont will be a direct interchange. Henry.
  15. I know of a couple of one year only parts manuals if we go back to the mid 60's. Just this month on eBay there was a 1964 Buick parts manual covering all '64 Buicks. In 1966 Oldsmobile published a parts manual covering all models. And there was a revision issued every two months during the model year. Oldsmobile also issued '91 Custom Crusier parts manuals as a all inclusive manual. Henry
  16. Covert Buick in Austin, Tx. Same family ownership since 1912! Henry
  17. The rear end assembly will interchange '65 through '70 Wildcats and Electras. Also a '70 LeSabre 455 or a '70 Estate Wagon. You'll need to include the brakes drums if you use an Electra rear end assembly. Henry.
  18. Dan It's a completly different, not interchangable grille between the two years!<BR>Henry
  19. Chris, '72 Cutlass discs were still optional, some '72's still had front drums. If the '72 has disc all the parts will work on your '71. Henry
  20. One other thing to watch out for when adding the stripe is that the 442 name plate is in a different location! Check some original photos and you'll see what I mean. Henry
  21. While the '66 bucket seats will bolt in they are of a completly different design. The upholstery kit for a '65 will not work on '66 seats. <P> The floorshift tilt column would be the same from any "A" body '64-'65'66 be it a Chevelle/Lemans/Cutlass or Skylark. (Columnshift are paired Chevelle/Lemans and Cutlass/Skylarks due to location of shift indicator)<P>Call Mark Polastry 512-303-0833 in Webberville, Tx and he'll have all the '65 Skylark trim you'll need!<BR> Henry.
  22. Rocketraider check out a few issues! Car Craft magazine actualy features quite a few "alternative" cars including lots of Buicks. They have a running feature on upgrades on a '66 Skylark GS conv along with 455's and a '65 Special sw. Henry.
  23. I do recall doing a double take seeing a '63 or '64 Cadillac Sedan de Ville 4drhdtp with what appeared to be factory bucket seats and center console in the early '70's in a salvage yard in Springfield, Mass. Henry
  24. You need to double check what you have, a '69 442 engine would be a 400 cid. Henry
  25. The sending units are different, the oil pressure unit also has a pipe tube and elbow which elevates it from the engine block level due to clearance. Oil pressure unit is much larger in diameter than the warning light unit. Sending units can be found in local parts stores, the fittings are sold by some of the Oldsmobile parts supliers. Henry
