  8. Maybe he used an old '58 Buick sales brochere as a guide to the restoration! I know many times the artwork will use wild colors for engine, suspension and frame drawings. Henry
  9. No that's not interchangable! Completely different design, you'll have to keep lokking for the full-size Chevy stuff. On top of it all the Rivi has different wheel bolt diameter (5") than on that year full-size Chevrolet/Pontiac Parisienne (4 and 3/4"). Henry

  18. One other thing to check would be the headlight dimmer switch. If it fails you can lose your head lights. Henry.
  19. Don't despair! It may not be worth quite as much as one with its correct engine but its still a worthwhile car. It's certainly worth more than a '83 Cutlass. It would even be a great canidate for a 350 or 403 transplant It has many special features to make it a H/O which a change of engine didn't take away. Enjoy it! Henry.

  21. Centurianbrit: Most GM cars built prior to 1975 (1st year Cat convert '75) will have provision in crossmenber for dual exhaust.<P>Stapell is from the Dallas, Tx. area so exhaust systems last for a long time in this climate.<BR> Henry

  23. Here's more Hollander info Rocketraider<BR> Seems like during the development of disc brakes '67-'70 all the fullsize GM lines used their own designs.<P>'67-'70 Cadillac/Buick/Oldsmobile/Pontiac and Chevrolet fullsize cars all have different rotors, nothing interchanges between the divisions.<P>During this era full size parts like all the upper and lower control arms and spindles were dedicated for each division only. <P> With the total redesign of the '71 full size cars all GM except Cadillac would share front end assemblies of spindles, control arms and brake systems.<BR>Henry.
  24. I checked a Hollander interchange manual and it list the full size '69-'70 Oldsmobile 88 98 rotor as being exclusive.<P>Buick is not the same.<P>It also list a drum brake for '70 full size Oldsmobile so it seems that the disc were an option.<P>For'71 rotors were shared with all full size GM cars and 1/2 trucks.
  25. '68-'68'-69-'70 full size Oldsmobiles were available with disc brakes as an option. I think if you check with a true auto parts source such as NAPA you'll find replacment rotors. Henry
