  1. Just picked up the air cleaner, it will take a while to draw it and then send drawings out for a quote. Engine paint is Dupont 1952 Meadow Green. This is the result of a man taking an original paint chip in and getting a match. This information is from www.classiccarestate.com. George R. Evenson Estate, 1929 Chrysler. The car I'm having restored had a green engine block and the silver head (silver dome head). The 1933 Chrysler I looked at today had a darker shade of geen for the block. I haven't found anything written by Chrysler for the paint colors as of yet.
  2. Contacted the restoration shop and will be picking up my air cleaner so I can make a drawing of it to try to get some made. I forgot to get the paint codes from them, I'll get it on my next trip. Cross your fingers on this!
  3. Have you tried Snyders in Ohio? The build seats antique cars? I can look up their address if you need it or are interested. wolfe@wesnet.com
  4. try Jay @ 610-863-6955 or astheime@ptd.net I've bought parts for my 1930 model 70's from him I'm still looking for an air cleaner for this car...
  5. You might want to have a bed made by a metal or restoration shop. I know that D&D Classic Auto Restoration in Covington, Ohio would be able to make one. Check out their web site. I've seen cars that they have made about all the body parts for. You can contact Roger James at 1-800-332-7742. Their shop ( about 6 large buildings ) is fantastic. No, I'm not involved with them other than a customer.
  6. Still looking for an air cleaner for a 1930 Chrysler with a downdraft carberutor. Anyone have an extra they'll part with? wolfe@wesnet.com
  7. Loctite will work if you have up to .015" oversize condition. Clean the bore & bearing and then use a feeler blade in three placed around the bearing to center it in the bore.( three pc's of the feeler blade are left in place) The loctite will hold the bearing in place. If you want to remove it in the future, you'll have to heat it with a torch and pull it out. I've used this method to save flywheels that weighed 20,000 lbs in heavy industry.
  8. I know I've seen it before. Can someone tell me the color code for the silver green paint used on a 1930 Chrysler engine? Thanks, Tim Wolfe wolfe@wesnet.com
  9. I'll send you a photograph of the one I need. Thanks for the response.
  10. I had this same problem and found that I had a crack in the intake manifold. You couldn't see it, when I took the manifold off- it came off in two pc's.

Have a 1930 model 70 Brougham that is original and a driver. Hope to show the coupe and later drive it while camping in our toy hauler. Wanted to restore the car myself--but I don't have the time since I retired!

  24. Retired foreman for a large press manufacture, now I work part time repairing hand tools. A lot less pressure and the wife said I'm easier to live with now. I gave them over 30 years, they downsized and kept most of the retirement that was promised. Life is good!
