  1. Did you ever get this info? I have a copy of an article that has a very good photo of this radio for a 1930 Chrysler I could send you if I had an email address for you. timandjuliawolfe1@roadrunner.com
  2. Sorry, I'm not in El Paso..He's around $4500 and in this area that seems to be a good price. Had another quote for $12,500! The car would get all new panels, head liner, carpeting and upholstery(new backing panels too) This is a show car, not a daily driver.
  3. There was a man at the Auburn, Ind. show that had an engine like this one on display on the trunk lid of his car. The engine ran on gas and he made it from scratch! He was a retired tool and die man as I remember from our talk. Said he made several trips to the museum to take measurments. If you were to contact the director of the museum in Auburn, they should know him.
  4. Decided to go with Lavern Weitzel in Fort Recovery, Ohio. We were impressed with his work, his shop and his knowledge. His price was very resonable too. His work is on a couple of cars in a small private museum in St Marys, Ohio and as luck would have it, a very sharp custom show truck that I know the owner of. I have all the panels from my car and the seat cover, he'll be able to copy these. He'll have to make the rumble seat from scratch--springs are missing too. I also visited a one man shop in Piqua, Ohio today. He did grat work and was working on a 1949 Chrysler. His price was a little short of the original 15,000 quote. You can contact me at timandjuliawolfe1@roadrunner.com for more information.
  5. Thanks for the information, I had a quote of 15,000.00 for a 2 door coupe! No way ..
  6. I have Grundy and several years ago I had a door handle broken off in a parking lot. I had my insurance only a few months with them and hated to turn in a claim. They were great, even wanted to pay me something for installing a replacement handle myself. They said that this was the reason I had insurance with them.
  7. Sorry, the model 70 doesn't have the electrolock, the ignition is fastened to the end of the coil and clamps to the back of the dash. So, I can't offer much help.
  8. The line drawing I have, in a manual for a model 70, shows the color of the wires. I had Rhode Island Red make a new wiring harness for my car and they might have a better schematic.
  9. Can anyone recommend a good upholstery shop around the Dayton, Ohio area to do a 1930 Chrysler 3 window coupe? Anyone had experience with J and J Auto Upholstery in Columbus??

  11. Thanks for the excellent information. The restoration shop removed the badge without any damage and I can now tell them to nickel plate it.
  12. My 1930 Chrysler has a Fedco badge on the dash and I need to know how to clean it up, the car is being restored. I know that it can not be replaced if damaged. Has anyone restored these badges?
  13. You might call the Brassworks, they are suppose to make radiators for antique cars. You can check out their web site or contact them sales@thebrassworks.net, Doesn't cost anything to call them at 805-239-2501. I just ran across their info and thought I'd pass it along, I know nothing about them other then this.
  14. 1930 Chrysler nodel 70 Can someone tell me what color the exhaust and intake manifolds are painted, also the heat shield above the manifolds? Is the paint gloss or satin? I think the exhaust is cast iron color and the other two black. Thanks

  17. The engine for our car is at an engine shop for a rebuild, they cleaned it with heat and found several small areas of what appeared to be original paint under bolted on items. It was the dark green color an the block was repainted this color.
