3. Group,
Selling a '66 Skylark Gran Sport Hardtop 4-speed car. It is a project that needs completion. A pending divorce has accelerated things so it will be parted out if no takers in the short time. Asking $5k (that many goodies). If serious and interested to travel/ship to North Dakota contact me at c_ehubbard@hotmail.com. Do not reply to this ad as I will not be monitoring replies.
Older pics can be seen at http://members.tripod.com/GSNailhead/mainpage.htm - under project car.
Thanks,
 4. Woops - looks like the board had me down as unregistered. Not the case.
[ 10-06-2001: Message edited by: c_ehubbard ]
 5. You got me thinking. I e-mailed Edelbrock and this was their reply:
"Unfortunately the molds to these manifolds have been destroyed or missing, not sure exactly.
And we will not be making them any longer.
I wish that we would, but I am sure we will not."
Hmmm... He didn't say never, so there may still be a chance!
 6. Group,
Looking to sell a tranny. 63' Muncie casing and tail housing w/ a 66/67 side cover (studs). Swapped out the insides from a M-21 into the case along with a rebuild kit. Have receipt. 0 miles on assembly. Hurst shifter and linkage included (not rebuilt). Asking $500 for all. Let me know if you're interested.
Hub
66' Skylark Gran Sport
Minot AFB, ND
c_ehubbard@hotmail.com
 7. Look behind the water crossover pipe on the valley support rail - on the passenger side. There will be a two digit alpha code. For a 65' 401 it will be LT. A 65' 425 will be LW. 66' would have the first digit as "M" with the same last digit. A second digit of "X" will be the 425 dual quad engine.
 8. Woah - i though this ad had disappeared into cyberspace. Long time no see.
Ringger - the engine is sold. As far as a souce for short/long blocks - this forum is as good as any. There's a bunch of diehard nailheaders at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BuickNailHead/join
You have to do a registration dance to join up but it's worth it. Someone should have a lead for you there.
Mark - she's all crated up.
Robin - the flywheel that came with your '59 is the wrong application that you need. It must come from a ST300/400 not a dynaflow. The dynaflow series of cranks use a completely different flywheel. Once you track down a flywheel you will need to have the mounting hole enlarged just a tad to clear the larger dynaflow style crank flange - or have the flange milled. It sounds like you are in the know about the bushing which is necessary as well. Other than that - it's a bolt on.
MrBuick174 - that's good info to know about the post '64 center main difference from the earlier mills.
[ 07-17-2001: Message edited by: c_ehubbard ]
 9. There is a "D" stamped - I believe after - the head casting numbers.
 10. Brad,
The modern trans adapters are in the works. There's a couple of nailheaders that are persuing that right now. After market alum rocker covers have been molded by Faso - I'm not certain where the oil filler is located at though. Header flange kits are available for the 364/401/425 at http://www.classicbuicks.com/hp&custom_misc.htm . I hear you on the rest. If you haven't heard of the nailhead newsgroup - that is a one stop shopping place that is dedicated to the nailhead. The guys working on the tranny adapters along with about 160+ other nailheaders are there. You can join up at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BuickNailHead/join . I do feel that some goodies will becoming available in the near future - but not under one roof.
Later,
 11. Brad,
It seems that there really isn't as large a market for go-fast goodies for the nailhead as the other vintage mills. There are sources out there though, like you said. It seems that the risk of having all you eggs in one basked is spread out by the "multiple sources" though.
As an example - If I remember correctly, Carmen Faso, isn't making any more double roller chains any more because of the market. But the custom oil pick-ups/pump are still around. The overhead along with the R&D can cripple a single source without the proper backing. It will be quite a feat to have alum heads being offered for the nailhead. I do look forward to what will become available in the future though.
There are still sources out there along with new items being brought to the table. That's enough to keep my curiousity going!
Later,
 12. That would be a 401.

------------------
Hub
1966 GS Skylark
Minot AFB, ND
 13. Weird... The austin.rr.com address kept kicking back my original e-mail. Maybe I'll catch you in a crossfire with both addresses.

------------------
Hub
1966 GS Skylark
Minot AFB, ND
