Be aware that most carriage bolts are grade 2, which means they are soft and can bend or break in severe service.

I have 1 bolt like yours that is 3" long from bottom of head to the tip, 7/16 coarse thread, but I have 9 of the wedges you show. $5 each plus shipping. They will fit in a small flat rate box.

Armature undercutter? If so, maybe the part that holds the armature is somewhere else...

If you're coming through Tiffin, OH, look up Joe Bell. He rebuilds Model T engines for a living and I'm sure he will have some heads. You can contact him through the MTFCA web site. I'll get to him and tell him if he gives you one, I'll give him two...🙂

The most obvious difference is the water outlet connection to the top of the radiator. Model T bolts are horizontal, Metz is vertical. I don't know where you are located, but I have two original Ford heads that you can have.... I'm in NY south of Albany.

For those of you who say, "Can't we all just get along?"
In another thread about the goods and the bads of finding stuff in the flea market, I mentioned the overhead valve set-up I found for my Model A Ford. Over the winter, I plan to install this baby in my roadster with its new Burtz engine. What I DON'T PLAN TO DO is show the car at and AACA meet. I'm not against modifieds, BUT THEY DON'T BELONG IN THE AACA. There, I said it...

Mark's in Connecticut is very good. I had a magneto die about two weeks before a show this past spring and called him. I told him him that I needed it yesterday and guess what, he did it. Great service...

One more thing I should have added under Observations: If your there to sell be ready to sell at 7:00AM, that is when they open and Hershey is only once a year. Many people with a pocket full of cash can't see what is under your tarps if you don't uncover them till 8-9 am and they most likely will not come back around for a second trip.
As already stated, the gate doesn't open until 7. Couple that with long lines of traffic and a VERY short traffic light on Airport Road, put me at my spot somewhere between 7:30 and 8:00. Since I got tired of waiting for you to arrive at my booth with your pocket full of cash, I left around 4:00 so I could stand in a long line of traffic and get caught by that same short traffic light. Leaving around 4:00 also allowed me to get caught in a long line of people waiting for a table at the local eateries. Just sayin...

I just purchased at the Hershey flea market a new, unused overhead valve head for the Model A ford made by Dodd Bros. I've never heard of it, but it is an older production set-up designed to run two down draft Winfields. It is supposed to have 9:1 compression ratio. I am familiar with the stromberg down drafts, but not Winfields. Are there different size throats and what information would you need to recommend the correct set of carbs? Thanks in advance....
I'll have a photo or two tomorrow...

I need a driveshaft for a 1922 Reo T6 for a project. Willing to buy complete chassis if necessary and priced right. Can pick up in Hershey. 518-755-0986

I think I see 4 cylinder holes in the block. I don't think this is a late 20's Chevy...

Cone Clutch
in Parts Wanted
Posted
I have been making Model T transmission band linings out of Dupot Kevlar for almost 40 years and have an opinion on cone clutches. The only reason, in my opinion, that kevlar works in a Ford transmission is that it is bathed in oil. Kevlar has terrible abrasion properties and will shred when used in a dry environment. Leather has been the material of choice in cone clutches since they were new and I think it is still the best solution. I know some will jump on my case and some have used kevlar in cone clutches successfully, but from my experience, stay with leather.
