  1. I think the make your own route may be the way to go myself. Check out the price of hubcaps, maybe max $80 for a set. Then buy a set of Riv centercaps from Mitch. Find a place to machine the plastic from the hubcaps to the proper size and shape. assemble and enjoy. Its very expensive to make the plastic part, and there has been about 10 responses positive to buy. Not really enough interest. It is all self interest in the end that motivates me, in my cars more than money. I have enough caps to do my 4 cars, so my interest is diminished and I am discouraged. But! The plastic people still have to get back to me on pricing(I'm trying to get them to reduce the cost). Never say never. Whatever! Leaving for BG in a few minutes, I will survey further there.
  2. I'll be driving the Red Custom Coupe! It looks great on Buickstreet.com, wish it could show that well! See ya there, Ted
  3. So little time...needed to adjust my Hurst shifter, now the transmission is out, next the engine! Has a little rear main leak while accelerating. Needs detailing. Needs Aluminum heads (hey, where did that come from?) Needs Gearvendors OD unit (whoa! ) See you next year. Just kidding, I just can't bring the GS. Have to come in the Wildcat! Cheers.
  4. Hey! there is a set here in Cincy a guy wants to sell.... I just saw one it looks pretty decent. Let me know. Ted
  5. I have some, if they are for the big cars. GS ones are different, I have no spares for thet. Let me know.
  6. It was originally designed to draw air from the connection on the carb that is right under the opening of the carb, passenger side, rear...if you take your air cleaner off you should see it.
  7. Jan, that tube is for choke heat. One side should go from the top of the carb for clean air, then the other tube should go to the choke. There is suction through the choke housing, drawing air through the tube. The tubes are available new in stainless. I'll take a look for the bimetallic, or i'll check with Carmen, I can send you with the red mats. TN
  8. Couple Ideas: make sure the passenger door lock is not cocked, is straight up and down-insert the key and move it both ways, then take out. use key in drivers door to unlock. This is another way to turn the alarm off besides the remote. I have random security on my 95 Riv-sometimes the security light comes on when I insert the key(pass keyII)then its a 3 minute wait to try again. Thats when I do my yoga mantra-close eyes rlax and say om padne ohmmmmmmmmmmother...
  9. Looking for the right taillight lense and wiper arms and blades for a 9019 V-16 Cadillac. Any sugestions or recomendations email, PM or reply to this post. Thanks,
  10. Try Harry Samuel Interiors 248 335 1900. He sold me a package shelf for my 65 Wildcat, its perfect. He used to advertise in the Bugle, I have not seen the ad lately. Hope he is still around, he is very helpful. Good Luck,
  11. It is the coolest! I saw the Y-Job at the Concours show on Amelia Island. See the attachment!
  12. Try Ron 714 537-8028 CA or Larry @ D& L 631 351-4837 NY They were both well informed on Warner units.
  13. Pat, I recomend Carmen because he usually has stock parts for the Nailhead. The Carter AFB was stock, late models bolt up but the air cleaners \do not fit and the linkage usually needs to be changed to work. I thought the Electra would be a stock 4bbl. That would be very easy to replace. Good luck,
  14. Carmen Faso is a great source for an AFB for your Buick. He is really into Nailheads. 716-693-4090. If you need a 4bbl manifold, they are easy to buy. I have about 4 of them extra, anchors away!!!
  15. Reasearched the 38 Cadillac colors. They called the paint "Luminescence" that had a fine metallic look to it. Not the first, but the name is interesting. Listed 4 colors, Cloudmist green, Fairhaven Blue, Cruiser grey, edgewood green. Nice.
  16. Seen at the Amelia Island Concours deElegance- the Y-Job, the Wildcat, the LeSabre. Buick Dream cars in the "flesh". See Attachment!
  17. I'll be down for the car show on Friday. Not sure what I should bring. Something waterproof!
  18. In 65 i've seen 2 radiators. One for non ac cars has a straight stub for the upper inlet. A/C cars had the stub pointing inward (to clear a/c compressor). Heavy duty cooling cars had the stub pointing inward (to clear a/c compressor). A/c modified cars had the stub pointing inward (to clear a/c compressor if one ever installed after buying car). (this is all the a/c cooling parts ie HD radiator, fan shroud, water pump, hole in firewall) but no compressor. Not too many made. Thanks to the BCA nats last year I saw a 64 Wildcat 4-speed with this a/c delete option. The hole in the firewall had a peice of sheetmetal screwed to the firewall to cover the hole where the a/c stuff would go. I bought a 65 with this option and it is the same. I do not know if this helps, but I like to sharezzz! Option number I6 is a/c I7 is HD cooling I8 is heat delete.
  19. I have all this stuff for your Wildcat. I can send with the tilt steering.
  20. Here is a picture (see Attachment) of the turn signal cancelling device.
  21. Definately need the whole hub assembly at least. I took one apart and it looks like the assemblies are there for good. No screws to take the individual pcs. out to exchange, all riveted and gnarly to work on. Does your car have column shift? I have one to sell. Guts look good(turn signal and tilt), cosmetics poor. Let me know if you want pix or more info.
  22. I had that happen on my Riviera, at least the cable broke on me. They need lubrication to work well. I can take some pictures of the way it should look, and look for parts(not too optimistic on having extras, but I'll look.) When the Riv broke, I got a used one from Leonard Scott, a technical advisor and Riviera Guru. I will look tomorrow when I am at the Taj-MaGarage. Stay Tuned,
  23. They have a website @ http://www.classicbuicks.com/ still active. Last time I talked to them, they said they do internet only sales now. I have not bought anything from them since '92.
