  1. For projects like these, accept no substitute! Genuine Buick parts. Only available if one finds a parts car! From Arizona, some fine sheet metal.
  2. Just one example of why it has to come apart completely. 5/16 bolt for motor mounts. Begone!
  3. Just typing that made me a little more cra cra. Wildcat - Needs an engine for now. I think it will get driven if I can get this knocked out. LeSabre- Just need to sort out the fuel delivery. Starts and runs fine but then fuel chokes off. Plus the tank is dripping a little and whatever is coating it is getting liquified by the gas, dripping tar like substance. GS400 Convertible - a rear one, 3-speed manual, (1/79) No power steering or brakes, Turquoise with white top and interior. GS400 Coupe - a 4-speed black/black/black - have had for 14 years now. Time for action! First up - obviously jumping the que
  4. Still have to get that steering column in...with wood wheel and the proper tri shield horn button.
  5. Getting the clutch done, transmission and driveshaft back in. Rear glass back in. Next week should be interesting! Maybe a test drive????? 22.5 years later !
  6. Waiting on a spacer for the hydraulic clutch throw out bearing. This is a new one- there is "no gap" between the bearing and the clutch fingers. They stay in contact while running. So we had to find a vendor that had the proper bit and guess (educated) at the depth. Transmission is out waiting. I need this to get running. Patience is a virtue but I don't have much time! Going to start another project that jumped in line. Cheers!
  7. Greetings from Cincinnati- I hope to see you and your car out this year. Working in West Harrison, IN.
  8. So many details to finish but the finish line- at least for the mechanical bit- is close. Steering column, hyd clutch bleed, air cleaners, exhaust... punch list getting shorter anyway!
  9. One good thing about them coming apart- you can clean them and lube properly.
  10. Feels so slow, but a couple things closer. The gas cap is hidden under that lovely bit of chrome in the center of the rear tail panel. Let us just say it is a fun job trying to get it on. Happy Saturday.
  11. My usual message- miss warmth Need some V8 time in the sun.
  12. Engine fired up for the first time in the Super Wildcat 5-speed! Sounds wicked, no mufflers yet. Exhaust system is going to be fabricated later. T
  13. Good call, good thing I don't need it to be a 65. Just a great old hot rod engine!
  14. They offered 4 colors for the 462xx models- 401 Blue 402 Silver 403 Fawn 400 Green Online trim book: Thank you whoever scanned! https://www.gransportstage1.com/buick-sales-literature/1965-buick-color-and-trim-book/
  15. Today is the anniversary of the acquisition of this Wild beast in 2009. I was reminded on fbook but also got reminded because I ordered material to redo the seats a little while ago from SMS and it showed up yesterday! Since it such a cool and rare piece, it needs to roam the streets in proper fashion, ie painted and perfect. Seems like the more options the more likely a car will be revered, this one the opposite makes me want to put it back to its original glorious like new condition- No power steering, no power brakes, just an AM radio to show for option. He even has the original spare-blackwall 8.45. Here are some pictures from 2009 when bringing it back from the Knoxville area.
  16. Bought this beauty - for the engine (runs great!) transmission and 3.42 rear. P.O. had dreams of a racing Riviera. Battery in trunk, light weight! It came with slicks I just have to see with them on there before it gets taken apart.
  17. I like the steel look on the brake backing plates- what did you use?
  18. These are hard to find in great condition. I had this one apart, repainted the red and black, put back together yesterday. Also getting the parking brake hardware ready. I tried to get the chrome paint back into the antlers but up close one can see my skill level is not up to the task. from 5 ft it looks fine
  19. Steve H picked this up yesterday and it it in the Wildcat already! Now you can see the Radio Delete goodness. Darwin Falk had this thing on eBay - had to grab it. When I had the car painted we used a front fender without an antenna hole...and there is little chance of me cutting through the rear qtr to put one in. So Delete! About 20 years ago I was visualizing this project and had toyed with the idea of 2 antennas raked back off the rear quarters. Not yet, but this Impala does look wicked cool with dual antennas.
  20. parking lights...picked up radiator and the dash assembly today. Onward. Looks like I need those bumper rubbers!
