1. Howard Check out the new Early REO group on Yahoo. It's all about 1 & 2 cylinder REO cars and trucks.
 2. Dave There's a lot of McLaughlin knowledge on the BrassBuicks email list. Maybe that can be a good resource for you.
 3. What cars used this National Magneto, it's a high tension, 4 cylinder Model K4.
 4. You may want to go to RacingHistory which is a group of over 700 early American open-wheel racing historians, authors and researchers. The group's area of interest is 1900 to 1970.
 5. The first initial reproduction cover made from new, limited run tooling, built of the same steel gauge as the original, the bracket is identical, fabrication welding and rivets are identical and the interior doublers are the same. There were a number of Early Cadillac Group members that have already indicated a desire to have one or more of these pieces. As soon as I have the indication of how many pieces will be ordered, we can start on the remaining pieces. The initial tooling, etc. came to a set up cost, exclusive of the cover itself, of $150.00. Individual covers will be at a cost of approx. $250.00 each PLUS the proportional share of the $150.00. In other words, if the production run is 10 units, then the cost to each buyer will be approx. $250.00 plus $15.00 (set up costs) plus additional USPS charges for shipping and insurance. All prices are US$. I'll be taking $100 deposits soon, but all I'm asking for now is a firm commitment. Nobody is getting a free ride on this, all costs will be shared equally If you?re a member of the Early Cadillac Group (a Yahoo based email group of 120 members) then you can see the photos here: Cadillac Air Compressor Cover Project or go to the website , click on Join This Group and you?ll be a part of exciting things happening with our 1 and 4 cylinder copper cylinder Cadillacs. You can contact me directly for further questions, etc. I expect your order can be delivered in less than 60 days. Tell your friends and let's get the production run numbers up! Super thanks. 24. Layden;
Thanks for the reply, but it was my mistake for not mentioning that a prior owner had rewound the unit as a single stage therefore we have nothing to go on as to what is the correct wire size(s) and number of turns. Also, looking for possible purchase of same unit in working condition.
STEVE
 25. The C-1 generator that came with (but not installed on) my 1914 Overland 79T is in need of complete rebuilding, including re-winding of the the two field and two armature windings. It is a compound wound design (i.e. it has two field windings, one of fine wire, called the shunt winding because it is in shunt with or connected across the positive and negative brushes of the dynamo. The other or heavier winding is called the series winding because it is in series with the lamp circuit.
Our problem is that we need the specifications for wire size and number of turns for both pair of windings.
Can anyone be of any assistance?
Thanks.
