1. The first initial reproduction cover made from new, limited run tooling, built of the same steel gauge as the original, the bracket is identical, fabrication welding and rivets are identical and the interior doublers are the same. There were a number of Early Cadillac Group members that have already indicated a desire to have one or more of these pieces. As soon as I have the indication of how many pieces will be ordered, we can start on the remaining pieces. The initial tooling, etc. came to a set up cost, exclusive of the cover itself, of $150.00. Individual covers will be at a cost of approx. $250.00 each PLUS the proportional share of the $150.00. In other words, if the production run is 10 units, then the cost to each buyer will be approx. $250.00 plus $15.00 (set up costs) plus additional USPS charges for shipping and insurance. All prices are US$.

I'll be taking $100 deposits soon, but all I'm asking for now is a firm commitment. Nobody is getting a free ride on this, all costs will be shared equally If you?re a member of the Early Cadillac Group (a Yahoo based email group of 120 members) then you can see the photos here: Cadillac Air Compressor Cover Project

or go to the website , click on Join This Group and you?ll be a part of exciting things happening with our 1 and 4 cylinder copper cylinder Cadillacs. You can contact me directly for further questions, etc. I expect your order can be delivered in less than 60 days. Tell your friends and let's get the production run numbers up!

    Super thanks.

  2. Early Cadillac Group Gathering 1

    August 27, 2005

    Bellingham, WA USA

The Early Cadillac Group, an Internet based group of pre-1915 Cadillac owners and enthusiasts from around the world, will sponsor a one-day Gathering in Bellingham, Washington. This Internet based email group meets daily on the Internet to discuss all aspects of Cadillacs built between 1903 and 1914. All of these early Cadillac cars were fitted with one or four cylinder engines and their very recognizable, copper water-jacketed cylinders.

All horseless carriage era One and Four Cylinder Cadillac owners or enthusiasts are invited to attend. Everyone is encouraged to bring their early Cadillac, running or not. There will be lots of discussions, show and tell, questions and answers, photo taking and showing, maybe a little touring and of course, there?s going to be food!

If you?d like to participate in this initial ECG Gathering, you may contact Peter Findlay pfindlay@duetsoftware.ca in British Columbia at 604-436-4547 or Steve Hammatt gsteve@hammatt.com in Washington State at 360-661-6060 for further details.

  4. I have a friend that has a couple of Stuze from the late '20s that he wants to sell. I believe he may also have some parts. One car was a project to make into a late model bearcat (special wheels, etc.). The cars are in storage near Seattle, WA. Call the owner for details. Call Jack Conner at (206) 363-8694

  5. Speaking of Hupmobiles, a friend of mine has

two 1914 Hupps for sale. One is missing a body, the

other is a touring body that is apart, but totally complete

with all literature, original CT (or PA?) license plate,

no damaging rust and a complete packet of photos taken

of each part as it was taken apart and they were labeled.

Very reasonable pricing, contact seller if you're interested.

I haven't seen either car nor are there any photos to send.......

......sorry. Cars are near Seattle, WA inside storage.

  6. Layden;
Thanks for the reply, but it was my mistake for not mentioning that a prior owner had rewound the unit as a single stage therefore we have nothing to go on as to what is the correct wire size(s) and number of turns. Also, looking for possible purchase of same unit in working condition.
STEVE

  7. The C-1 generator that came with (but not installed on) my 1914 Overland 79T is in need of complete rebuilding, including re-winding of the the two field and two armature windings. It is a compound wound design (i.e. it has two field windings, one of fine wire, called the shunt winding because it is in shunt with or connected across the positive and negative brushes of the dynamo. The other or heavier winding is called the series winding because it is in series with the lamp circuit.
Our problem is that we need the specifications for wire size and number of turns for both pair of windings.
Can anyone be of any assistance?
Thanks. confused.gif" border="0
