  1. I have asked for photos numurous times and offered to have someone stop by twice to check it out. Been interested for months and just won't buy a car when I can't get photos or have someone check it out.
  2. I have the clips. Rex@studebakerclassics.com
  3. Unfortunately, I only have one. Rockne10 Post a photo of one so we can know what to look for. There are several crank hole covers at the national meet.
  4. I have a 31 president front bumper already chromed for sale. Rex@studebakerclassics.com
  5. I have a 35 dictator sitting behind the barn. It has been picked pretty clean. I still have a few parts left. What do you need? I will be scrapping the carcass soon.
  6. FA is early 28 president long wheelbase. S-3? Could you post a photo?
  7. I will try to get his info. He told me where his shop is, about 7 miles from me. He did not know the model and did not have the chassis. The fenders did have just the one raised hump.
  8. At the swap meet in South Bend today a fellow had front fenders, hood, rear fenders and bumpers from a 26 stude 2 door sedan that he is making into a street rod. Can anyone use these?
  9. In your 4th photo I can clearly see the base points on the left and the adjustable plate on the right. You have to get this exactly right to get all 8 cylinders running right. Not 4 good and 4 close. Or you can send the distrubutor to someone with a distributor machine and have them set them. Of course all your problems could still be in the carb. Make sure it is absolutely clean. I have kits if needed.
  10. Both points are set to .018 to .024 gap. One set is mounted to the base plate. The other set is mounted to a adjustable plate on top of the base plate. Thats why the stationary set is done first, then the moveable one. Do you have a owners manual? Adjustments are in there. I have high quality reproductions. On the right side of the rear motor mount casting is a removeable plate. Open that up and you will see the timing marks. I know the dist is a pain. I have seen other club members put chevy and mopar distributers on. I even put on a Oldsmobile one to get a 8 lobe cam and use single points.
  11. Oh you have the late production 660x dist. Ok set the stationary points gap at 22. Use a timing light hooked to number 1 cylinder. set the steering wheel advance full advanced. set the timing to the 1-8 UDC timing marks on flywheel. Some flywheels will have a punch mark about 3/4 inch before UDC set there. Then hook timing light to number 6 plug and set the other movable point set, but this time set to flywheel marks 3-6 UDC. The stationary points run cylinders 1, 2,8,7 and movable points run 6,5,3,4. firing order 16258374. Points fire 45 degrees apart. Also the carb barrels run 4 cylinders each. The inside barrel feeds the center 4 cylinders 3,4,5,6 and the outer barrel runs the other 4 cylinders. 1,2,7,8. Good luck. Rex Oh just noticed your photos. Your car was made at the change over to one coil. You still have the hole in the cowl for the other coil. Unless someone modified it.
  12. Got the pan but still looking for some president hubcaps. Any leads appreciated.
  13. Do your shocks have the round balls? With links that look like a dog bone. If so the rubber cushions are the same as ford and available and cheap.
  14. What you have is a dual ignition and dual carburation. One coil, one set of points, 1/2 of the dual rotor and one barrel of the carb runs the center 4 cylinders and the other coil, points, 1/2 rotor and other carb barrel run the outside 4 cylinders. Good news is you got 1/2 the motor running right.
  15. Wayne, A fellow in Tenn has two 6 cylinder motors and a pile of parts he is trying to sell me. When I went there I took photos. The manifolds look the same as in your photos. By the casting numbers one motor is a 25 and one is a 28. I will email you the photos. Rex
  16. They are held on by brass nuts with two flats for a wrench. I have had to grind down and make thin wrenches to fit in. I think it is 9/16. if you look at ebay ad Studebaker Door Handles | eBay you can see how the nut goes in.
  17. There used to be Iowa glass that advertised in Hemmings. They made my 31 glass. Just a few weeks ago I had classic glass make a 35 windshield for me. Classic Auto Glass and Classic Truck Glass but tell them not to put their logo on.
  18. Wanted lower radiator air deflector pan. It is the lower pan between the grille and the radiator. Approx 18 inches by 18 inches. part number 184820. It fits all 1935 models. Also need two President hubcaps.
  19. I have some new old stock ones. I can check if there is a pair.
  20. You can make new ones. I've made several. In fact I made some from stainless. It makes the grille look nice. Or just use plain steel and paint them. The stainless grille bars were an option. See Studebaker Classics If you don't want to try it, I can make them.
  21. You should have your local shop clean, repair and pressure check it first. They will let you know if it should be recored. It is a non pressured system on your car, so if it tests ok at 4 to 5 lbs is good enough. Recore could cost from 400. to 800.00
  22. I blast all my exhaust manifolds. Then paint with eastwoods hi temp stainless steel paint. When dry it stays looking just like a new casting. And lasts.
