  1. Yes, you should have a fire extinguisher that is quick and easy to grab in an emergency. I learned that lesson the hard way. I had a stock unrestored 1929 Studebaker Commander on a drive with my young family. Wife and infant in the back seat of the car on a tour when my engine caught fire. I saw smoke and didn't realize the significance of what was happening when I pulled off the road onto the shoulder into dry grass. Fortunately, the driver of the car behand me not only had a fire extinguisher but also saw flames from under my car. The other driver jumped into action and put out the fire. I now don't leave home without a fire extinguisher in my collector car but I also make sure the extinguisher are immediately available in case of an emergency.

  6. Not Mine, Craigslist Ad: https://stockton.craigslist.org/cto/d/manteca-1965-triumph-herald/7489663018.html 1965 Triumph Herald - $5,000 I bought this from the original owner in SF. It’s probably the most complete original Herald I’ve seen. All the panels under the dash are there in very good condition. Has some minor rust in weird places because of SF air. Original white paint, red interior. I have no personal interest in the sale of this 1965 Triumph Herald.

  8. The one issue you may encounter is with the gas. My father had a collector truck (1960s International) that he would leave in Arizona when he returned north for the summer. Every year when he went back to Arizona, for the winter, he had trouble getting truck to run. The truck was always in perfect running condition when he left, however, it wouldn't run when he returned six months later. The problem was with the gas being baked out of the system in the summer heat resulting in the fuel system having to be gone through each time he returned after his summer up north. The solution was to install a gas shut off in the gas line and let the truck run until the carburetor ran out of gas. This helped with a majority of the gas issues when the truck was parked over the summer.

  12. This is how a business slowly goes out of business. Poor reviews, no prior customers making referrals, and through word of mouth they get a bad reputation.
  13. Someone really loved blue when they supposedly restored this car. What is wrong with the Chrysler’s top? It almost looks like it is incorrect for this Chrysler.

  15. Yes, The CCCA list, for Cadillac, is missing a coma after 1915-1947 All. Series 75 applies to the model year 1948.
  16. One of my worst cars I bought new was a 1984 Ford Escort. It was my very first new car purchase. I was a college student, at the time, so I bought a stripped down Escort, two door hatchback, with standard transmission. Happy as a clam I drove the car home, about 25 miles, from the dealership. The next morning, when I was leaving for work the car had absolutely no brake peddle. Brake pedal went straight to the floor with no resistance. I called the dealership service department and was told that I had to pay to have car towed into the dealership for warranty repair, however, the warranty didn't cover the tow truck. I was a broke college student who could barely afford to buy the car and now I was being told to pay to have a tow truck haul my car 25 miles at my cost. No way. I argued with the service manager and finally told him to clear the path to the service bay door because I am driving the car in with no brakes and there better not be anything in my way when I hit their lot. I did drive the car into the dealership by down shifting, anticipating stops, and using the parking brake located between the front bucket seats. The dealership had my car for over two weeks trying to fix the brakes. Coincidently, the car was totaled out six months later in an accident. In the accident, I wasn't wearing a seat belt (no law back then) and my head bounced off of the steering wheel. I am hard headed so there was no significant damage to my head. I couldn't blame the brakes for the accident, but who knows, maybe?
