Of the three listed one is 20 and the rest 18 . 18 , 20 and 21 will all work in the trans with slight variation in the speedo reading .

To answer one of the original questions - Buick Club TRUE judging does not require you to start your car for it to be judged so if it looks factory - - no deduction . My choice for a modern better sounding system would be Flowmasters . My 61 has glasspaks and I really like the old 60s sound also. The ROA Judgeing system is a fun thing and as indicated before , its a popularity contest . What ever looks nice - has a good chance - has nothing to do with originality . The BCA thing is Originality = has nothing to do with eye candy for the most part however - Resale Red is always a good choice ? LOL

63 64 are not the same as 65 . If you have a rear speaker you will need the fader knob !

Mounting on top of the dash is an option . You can use one of the Guidematic holes if you dont have that option . If your dash pad is nice now - you run the risk of cracking it however . Under the dash and in front of the radio is an afterbirth / afterthought . Ok for Customs I guess but weird for original cars . The Tach option for the most part is a nice option - accurate is another mater . Its ok but I think modern tachs woud be much more accurate with faster response ? The factory tach will add value while aftermarket stuff is frowned upon . Bottom line is - the above is my opinion but its your car , make it the way you want . If you decide on factory - I see them on Ebay - be sure that when you buy one that it is guarenteed to work . On Ebay if the seller says untested - that means it does not work for the most part . Some can be repaired and some not depending on who furnished GM with it back in the day . All can also retro=fitted with modern circuitry keeping the original look - for a price . I use Delco Professional group 27F - have used them for years with very good luck .

Nothing special needed . One wire to the neg. side of the coil - tach needs to be grounded and power to the light - get it off of the existing dash light circuit . The book shows installation on top of the dash - here is a better place in my opinion .

I bought the car from Leonard Scott a number of years ago to restore but sold it before I had a chance to do it . The Sky King story is what Leonard told me . Leonard was a good friend so I am sure he believed the story to be true . I tried to document it with no results . It was a very nice car to restore - should have kept it ! LOL

My first Riv purchased new in Dec. of 64 was Seafoam Green with the light green cloth deluxe interior .

I have had radials on my 61 LeSabre for years including a trip to Colorado Springs from San Diego with no problems .

Has anyone found a good replacment source for the black vinyl on the console on the 63 ? Thanks in advance -

I would guess the 3 blade relay . You can try and clean the points ? C if you have power going to that relay . I have both relays if you need new .
