  7. Trailer parking update:Trailer parking will be open from 7 AM to 9 PM Tuesday through Friday and 7 AM to 10 AM on Saturday. If you arrive after these times you will have to find another place to park. You will not be able to park on Emberson Street which is the access road to the Ashton-Adair parking lot and you will be blocking access to a private home. It is a public street and not wide enough to accomodate parking. If you are a late arrival proceed down Phillips Lane to the the Adair Street entrance to the Expo Center. There is plenty of room there to line up and not block the street.
  8. I'll try to address all of the questions concerning trailer parking. First as you exit the freeway move to the left lane on the ramp as you will be making a left turn onto Phillips Lane. There will be signs to the trailer parking. You will see the Crowne Plaza on your left, continue a short distance and you will then turn right onto an access road to the trailer parking lot, Ashton-Adair. It is a fenced in, gated lot on the grounds of the Expo Center. Kyana Region will have the keys to the gate, will provide parking asistance and security. Expo security also patrols the grounds. Not sure about the reference to paying for parking but trailer parking is free. (Anyone that registered for the event will receive a parking pass for the Expo parking lots for normal vehicle parking for the events at the Expo, Friday and Saturday). For show car entry on Friday afternoon(4:00-7:00PM) and Saturday morning you will exit through the rear of the lot, Expo side, and follow the interior "ring" road to the North Wing where the show will be. Absolutely no trailer or RV parking at the host hotel. If you have any other questions, please contact us. Thanks JOE
  9. I will try to get the most recent schedule of events posted on the web site. Thanks JOE
  10. Although some times maybe subject to change at the last minute here is the current schedule for the Dinner Cruise Thursday evening. As Steve mentioned in order to accomodate everyone we have had to add another cruise. Early cruise, buses will leave the hotel at 3:30 PM, later cruise buses will leave the hotel at 7:00 PM Concerning the banquet; there will be a table sign up for the Friday evening banquet at registration. Thanks JOE
  11. Thanks everyone for the interest in the AACA 75th Anniversary event! The response has been overwhelming. Send your check in, we know we will have to process a few registrations that might be "tardy" due to the Holiday, etc. We want everyone that wants to be there to get the opportunity to be there. Results prior to the deadline indicate a great turn out with over 700 event registrations and approximately 600 vehicles and still counting. See you in Louisville! Thanks JOE
  12. Steve is correct, there is no admission charged to attend the car show portion of the event at the Expo. AACA car shows are open to the public. If you are not registered for the Meet or if you do not judge, the Expo will charge a parking fee however. If you or any anyone else have any questions please feel free to contact me at (330) 874-0811 or gagliaj@aol.com Thanks JOE
  13. We have made provision for special dietary requirements. The banquet meal is a "plated" meal so it is not a buffet. There is a special dietary request as part of the registration card and if selected a special vegetarian meal will be provided. If there a other special considerations please note and we will explore with the caterer. Thanks
  14. I doubt it will be a problem using a golf cart between the trailer parking, the Crowne Plaza and the Expo Center. From the trailer parking it is a private road to Phillips Rd. then just cross the street into the hotel parking lot. To the North Wing of the Expo Center you get on the "Ring" road, which is internal to the fair grounds and follow it to the North Wing. There is no public traffic only internal to the fair grounds. Thanks
  15. I doubt there will be any problems with using a golf cart from the trailer parking to the North Wing of the Expo Center. The road is referred to as the "Ring" road and is internal to the fair grounds. It is only used to get around the Expo, it is not a public road with a lot of traffic.
  16. The Expo Center will allow the smaller electric carts in the facility. Thanks
  17. Thanks for your interest in the Anniversary event. There will be shuttle service from the Host hotel to the Expo center and a parking pass is included with your event registration for those that may want to drive themselves. I will have to check on the use of electric carts within the Expo facility. Thanks Joe Gagliano
  18. Need front and rear driver side door sill plates for 1958 Sedan Deville. I think 1957 may also work. Thanks email: gagliaj@aol.com
  19. Thanks, you may be right.
  20. Does anyone know what the proper engine color is for a 1968 Jeep V-6 (225 ci; ) engine? It looks like a tourquise blue. Was this a Kaiser Jeep color? Thanks
  21. I am pretty much in agreement with the comments concerning evaluation programs for newsletters and web sites, I think it is a stretch comparing it to our class judging system for cars, however, except in the case where you don't get extra points for over restoration as you shouldn't with all the fancy stuff put in a web site. I'm a pretty simple person so when I look at things like newsletters and web sites I look for appearance, message, content and it's connection with the members. We do all of this (hopefully) for the benefit of our members not for self gradification. Each region and chapter has its own identity and "personallity" so newsletters and sites should be tailored to their members and potential future members. Web sites really need to communicate, connect and advertise the club. I think Terry Bond said, I look at each site as if I was a potential new member that moved into the area and I was looking for an antique car club to possibly join...what message do I get from the site? Unlike most newsletters the web sites are accessible by anyone, even non-region or chapter members. An evaluation system provides guidance for web masters, based on best practices learned, it provides a level playing field for all club web masters ( big, small, rich or poor) and it creates some objectives and recognition levels for the web master and local club to set your sights on. We are really just discussing how detailed a system we need to evaluate these elements. Thanks
  22. Thanks, as I am also on the Publications Committee this year I will be looking closely at the NAAP program as part of those responsibilities. I've also asked for any suggestions or comments from other web masters. JOE
  23. Thanks everyone for your involvement with the internet, I am always open to new ideas and opportunities. As Judy mentioned creating a new system for contest scoring will take some evaluation and development if it is decided to proceed. Please forward your comments and suggestions to me at gagliaj@aol.com. Thanks JOE
  24. Hello everyone, thanks for the comments and exchange concerning the web site and the web site contest. My name is Joe Gagliano and I will be the VP- Internet for 2008. It has taken me a little longer than anticipated to transition into this position as I was the club Secretary last year and had to close out some 2007 business before I could jump in with both feet on this one. Unfortunately, I did not have direct involvement with the contest judging last year so I can not comment on the results but I will do some investigation. To the best of my knowledge the criteria for judging did not change from 2006 to 2007 nor do I intend to change it this year. I would appreciate any comments and suggestions concerning the contest, we'll certainly look into a point judging approach like the newsletter contest, NAAP, if it is concluded that is the best and fairest way to do it. Thanks
